going to the same vacation spot 3 times?

I think I've been to London about 9 times. At some point, I lost count. :rotfl: I've been to Paris twice and Russia twice and I'll jump at the chance to visit either of those for the third time. Scotland twice as well, but it's not at the top of my "visit for the third time" list. I've also been to D.C. twice and will definitely go there again. I've been to many places in Europe once that I'd love to see again (more in depth) but before I do that, I'll visit some other place for the first time.

For all of the places I named that I'd like to visit multiple times, they all have one thing in common. You don't just do the same activities or see the same sights over and over. There is so much to see and do that you can take multiple trips and never repeat a thing. I wouldn't want to go on a vacation that involved a Groundhog Day-esque type of trip.

We've been to the same vacation spot 5 times with our 6th planned for next April. (Beaches Turks and Caicos)

I've been to the Jersey shore every summer of my life--some years, for only a long weekend and other years, for as long as two weeks. It's like a second hometown to me, and I hope to be able to live there when I retire. :)

It's fantastic to see new places, but returning to the same place multiple times has distinct advantages. For one thing, if you already saw or did something there you didn't like, you know not to bother going back. For another, you don't have to push yourself to see everything you can in a single trip which makes for a more leisurely vacation.

I actually prefer to revisit a place if I liked it the first time. You get a chance to explore more and really get to know the area. DH and I have been to Key West three times and can't wait to go again. Each time we go we do some different things and eat at different restaurants (although we do go back to some of our favorites!).

I've been to ~
DC at least 5 times...
Key West at least 4 times...
Las Vegas at least 5 times...
NYC at least 5 times...

I love going back to places that I've enjoyed and seeing things I didn't catch the first time or seeing things years after and remembering what a great place it is / was.

We've been to San Diego at least 4 times in a row when we rented a place for a week. I never get tired of San Diego and I'm only 3 hours from there.

We go to Lake George and Long Beach Island NJ every year. We try to do a new place every couple years but we love going back to those 2 places just as much as discovering somewhere new.

Turks and Caicos, Jamaica, Italy, NYC Vrgas, New Orleans, Phoenix, Mexico etc Some of the places I have been are just to gorgeous not to go back. Actually give me a week n some of those places over Disney any time. I wreally only like Disney or IOA for a day or two.:scared1: Can I say that here?:rotfl:

We've gone to Pigeon Forge 6 times and are planning our 7th. It's somewhere that we go to with friends and share a cabin. A great place where we can just go and relax. It has great peace and quiet. When that gets too boring, we go down the mountain into town and hit the tourist traps. :cool1:

I've been to Branson numerous, numerous times....since its only about 3 hours from here its a nice get a way that doesn't cost us an arm and a leg. Also, St. Louis is only 4 hours from us so we've been there quite a bit as well....loads of free things to do there.

We are going to Puerto Vallarta for our third time this winter and we are just as excited as when we first went! We have made friends and it is beyond gorgeous--hopefully buy a house there some year!

Every time we go to Baltimore, MD to visit family my Mom and I always go to Washington DC! Its an awesome place full of history that you can not see all of on one visit! I've been there 4 times and haven't seen all the museums!

Pre-child I went to New Orleans at least a dozen times (but only a few since then). We've also been to San Antonio and the Arkansas Ozarks many many times.

I see nothing wrong with being excited about going to DC. DC is a fun and interesting place.

The last 5 years we've been to Mexico. 4 times on cruise ships and this year by plane. We love it there! Two more trips to Mexico in the works for the next two years.

I've been to Las Vegas... oh, about 15 times. I'd go back tomorrow!

As a kid growing up, we went to Colorado Springs every other summer... some years, EVERY summer!

I lived in DC suburbs for 20 years....I definitely went there more than a few times (when i was in elementary school, probably 8 times a year including school trips ) and i still have not seen eveyrthing i want to in DC. We're going back to Virginia for a visit in Dec. and we are probably going into DC for at least half a day.

We've been to NYC 5 times, LA 4 times (we now live here)

Mexico seems to be the place I keep going back to...love it there, but it's also the most cost effective every time I look at a vacation. We have tried different places in the last five years ~ Playa Del Carmen, Tulum, Cozumel, Cancun and this year Isle Mujeres for a week in March:thumbsup2

Also 4-5 nights at Hampton Beach, NH the day school gets out and we generally camp at the same two campgrounds during the summer, one that is 10 minutes down the street:laughing: and the other only about 45 minutes away.

We love going to the great Smokie Mountains
We also love going to the lake George area in NY
So, I dont think its silly to be excited to be going on a vacation to a place that you've been to before
