This will be our (DH and my) first time ever at WDW and we are so jazzed. I think we will be happy with POP, but we probably won't spend much time at the resort anyway. We are going to do as much as we can (hopefully won't go into overdrive mode too much though!), we got the dining package and added on the water parks + option (I hope we can actually use some of it) and also have tickets for MNSSHP on 10/27. Just had to share the excitement! Anyone else going between 10/24-10/29??

Have any good tips for first timers?

Thanks to everyone for all the FAQ threads, trip reports, etc etc as it has all helped us ALOT with planning this trip!

You will absolutely love POP. Be sure you check out the lake and take time to see the posters and icons in the lobby and courtyard. Eat meals and go to the parks early. I've never been to MNSSHP but hear it is great. Y'all have a great time and write a review. We can't wait to be in POP in 2 months!!

I was just there in September. You will love Pop!

Good things:

1. The giant statues that are on the buildings. Especially the Giant Mickey Phone

2. All the buildings are located within a short walk to the lobby and bus area

3. The rooms are nice and well maintained

4. The staff is very kind and willing to go out of their way to assist you in anything you might need

Bad things:

1. Bus service is not the best( I have stayed at the All Stars and they have much better service than Pop but while at Pop the bus driver told us that they will be redoing the entire bus system throughout the world sometime next year.)

2. The food court can be real hectic in the morning. Either get your breakfast to go and eat by a pool or in your room. Tell your kids what they want to eat and leave them with a responsible adult and get their food for them. It seems to work better that way.

Remember- You will not get to do everything in one visit. Take your time and relax and don't sweat the stuff you can't do.

Take a break once and awhile. If you take no breaks believe me a melt down will be in your future either by you or someone in your party.

Get to Toontown a little before 10:00 and go straight for the Judge's Tent. When you get out of the Judge's Tent look to your left and right for some of the characters walking around. If you get them just right you won't have to wait long.

If you want to see any of the parades start looking for a place at least one hour before it begins. If you wait any longer you might not get a good view of the parade.

In my opinion,Wishes is best viewed from right in front of the Partners Statue but to the left or right a little(Alot of people have different opinions on this)

Remember to pack moleskin and bandaids. Tummy aids(tablet form) and Tylenol.

I could go on and on(as you can already see) but the main thing is to chill out and realize that its a vacation not a commando raid. If you can't do something big deal-it will give you an excuse to go again.

Warning*****-Once you go to Disney it will be next to impossible to envision a vacation anywhere else. I know I am a Disneyholic.

My husband and I just spent our Honeymoon at the POP and loved it! It was my first time at WDW and I am hooked! We are planning another trip in May to celebrate our 1 year anniversary (we got married in April, but didn't take our honeymoon until September!)

You definately have to take time in the evenings to explore the lake and the buildings at night-it's absolutely beautiful!

Enjoy your trip!

We have stayed at both Pop and ASMo and I would disagree with the buses. At Pop we never had to share a bus with another resort like we di at ASMo. I also believe that the bus rides are shorter even though some guidebooks list them as longer. To MGM was maybe 5 minutes and Epcot was 10 tops.

I do agree that you will love the resort. The icons bring back many memories and are very cool to see.

Have a great trip.

We found the bus service to be great. The longest we waited for a bus was 20 minutes at the AK. I will admit that we have never stayed anywhere else but the POP, but this resort is everything we desire and will stay here on future trips. We stayed 6 nights and explored much of the resort but we never did see it all. It was very clean and the staff was courteous and attentive.

I love commando trips. My advice would be to get to the parks early. I know it's not much fun to get up early on vacation but you can get so much done if you are in the park right as it opens!

We'll by trying out Pop next week and we're exctied as well. Have fun!

Have a great time! We are arriving at Pop in 13 days!!! It's a great resort, we love it there. Have a great first trip!
