We are going to make a quick trips to the park next week for a long weekend (we only like 2.5 hrs away). We hate the heat so we plan on going in the evening when it starts cooling off and plan to relax by the pool during the day. How are the crowds at night compared to the day? Any parks to avoid at night?

Don't have any advice, but I'm curious to see the responses. We're doing the same thing at the end of the month.

Told DH that the only way I would agree to go in August is if we can take it easy by they pool during the day and do parks at night when at least there isn't as much searing sun. Several trips in the last few years mean there isn't much see,"have" to do... Except FEA and Soarin of course. :)

Can't wait for Animal Kingdom at night. Really looking forward to it.

Have a great trip !!

Thanks, you too. Stay cool.

My family has sun issues, so we always go to the parks at night. We've found that crowds are much less after the evening parade/fireworks. (Assuming the park is open after fireworks.) It may not be noticeably cooler, so make sure you still hydrate. Some restaurants or outdoor rides (Tom Sawyer island, Jungle Cruise, and Swiss Family Treehouse come to mind) may close early depending on crowds.

Growing up in Florida we learned that the sun was worst between 10 and 2, so we tend to head into the park around 4pm. While crowds are never at rope drop levels when the park is open until midnight you can accomplish pretty much everything. Just remember that you won't be able to get as many FPs, and that you should set up all your FPs well in advance. (By that time on the day of you're competing with folks looking for their 4th, 5th, etc. pass)

It depends on what time you are planning on entering the parks and how late the park hours are that day. Generally speaking, there is usually a significant drop in guests at MK straight after MSEP parade and the fireworks. Most people start lining up an hour or so before the first parade (assuming there is two) so while Main Street might look crowded, the other lands might be quieter. There will still be lines for rides, especially the headliners. If there are late hours (2am closing) then you can get so much done between midnight and 2am.

We will probably go around 5pm or so. Going to try and get to MGM and Epcot for the rides. No interest in MK. We never get to ride the big rides since we only go with our daughter who is 2.

If you're not interested in seeing Fantasmic, HS (MGM) is quieter during the show especially if they are only doing Fantasmic once.

At Epcot, if you want to do the Frozen ride, try and get FP for it as the lines have been insane (several hours wait)

Not interested in Frozen. Would rather have a beer and pretzel from Germany and people watch.
