Title says it all - what do I take, do etc? A friend of a friend told us about a lss that has a great crop and my friend signed us up. Neither of us know what to bring.

And of course, I failed to plan anything until today, at the last minute, right before leaving for work.

Help would be greatly appreciated :goodvibes

1. Don't forget your photos - -I have done that it is so annoying.

2. If you have an assembly line type project you are working on, they are good for crops -- like bday card or invites -- less stuff to bring

3. Try to make some kits -- say you want to scrap some bday pages, halloween and chrsitmas -- gather up the stuff you think you will need for those pages -- cardstock, paper, embellishments

Make a tool kit -- small cutter, scissors, adhesive/glue, pen...whatever tools you usually reach for

Another option -- go with your photos and tools only. Splurge at the store and buy what you need there.

One more thought -- if you don't have time to kit up a bunch of stuff -- gather up enough for 2 layout and go all out on them -- usually I don't have enough time to spend 3 hours on a layout -- but this could be an opportunity to try it.

Boy I am just full of ideas -- one more idea -- if you can't gather photos together, just make photo-less pages and add them in later.

make time to walk around and see what other are working on and what tools/supplies they are using

One more tip -- don't bring all of your stuff! There won't be room and it will be annoying trying to work in the small space.

I was going to say those two things!

I've forgotten my photos more than once for crops and it's embarrassing and time consuming to go all the way back home to get them.

I've been going to crops for years now - have one tomorrow actually - and have really learned to bring minimal tools and embellishments. I basically "kit" my pages and just bring a few extras. I have a rolling cart and a 12x12 plastic paper case that I love for crops. You can always add an embellishment at home later if there's something you forgot.

Have fun! I can definitely get more done in my own craft room at home, but a crop is a chance to visit with friends, make new friends, get new ideas, and just get out of the house!

Ideally you want to decide what to work on before you go so you can just take stuff related to those LO's. Otherwise you end up taking a ton of stuff.

I try to keep my stuff seperated in to catagories like: Halloween, Christmas, Vacation, Boys (school, sports, etc).

Thanks for the tips! I had planned to make some page kits but didn't get to it.

I'm excited plus I finally get to use my rolling cart that my dds got me for Christmas last year.

Any more tips - I'm open :)

Since you don't have time for page kits grab all the photos from one vent- choose a background color that fits the mood or colors of the event and grab a stack of that. Then choose 1 or 2 other colors that will coordinate with the one you grabbed- use that for your matting, titles, ect. If you have embellishments by category and can grab that do so also. Scrap that event and use the rest of your time seeing what others are doing.

Don't forget your camera!! Take pictures of others layouts for inspiration (ask first).

Have someone take pictures of you working.

I'm going to my first crop in a week. Do you have any tips after attending your first crop?

Great tips! I plan on putting some kits together. LOVE the tip on making photo-less pages. Now I won't stress out about bringing ENOUGH photos. :thumbsup2

Don't forget about the tools that most LSS have for you to use at the crops. I used to bring extra standard colors and make die cuts and alphas with extra time or when I got blocked.
