Going to Magic kingdom on MNSSHP day

So we plan on going to MK on a day where they will have MNSSHP in hope to finding low croweds during the day. No we will not be staying for the party just hoping to get a semi "uncrowded" park since im guessing people instead of wasting an actual park day to only come till 7 they would just purchase the special event ticket for the evening or go to another park? Do you think im incredibly wrong? Will I find it to be super crowded or more empty?

I think you may find the early morning to be crowded but as the day wears on it will thin out. On my arrival day, Halloween I am going to MK then hopping over to Epcot later.

I think they will find the opposite to be true. Early in the day crowds will be lower than average, then will pick up in the 4-7 timeframe as party guests start to arrive and overlap with regular day guests.

OP, we have visited on many party days and had great luck with it. I would always choose a party day when possible.

I agree with PP. Since party guests can enter the part starting at 4pm, crowds will likely be heavier that time of day (especially near the weekend or Halloween). We find earlier in the day to be better and then park hop to a different park later in the day. That's what we'll be doing again in October.

I've never gone in the morning but I like to go in for a late lunch and see the afternoon parade. The first time I went in much earlier than the party I was a little taken back by how much larger the mnsshp attendance was vs the afternoon guests. 4-7pm is really crazy though while people are coming and going.

We've seen it really crowded on party days and really light. It's a roll of the dice. But most commonly it tends to be light crowds until around noon, then you get a bit of the standard peak crowds. At 4:00 it start getting really busy, for the party.

I checked the historical crowds last year, and MNSSHP parties averaged a 3 out of 10 in September. So yes, low crowds.

In mid October on to late October the MNSSHP days typically hit 7 out of 10 or so.

So it kind of depends on when you are going.

We went on the Friday of Night of Joy last year and got so much done (same hours last year - park opened for NoJ ticket holders at 4PM and had a hard close for non-ticket holders at 7PM). We were literally done with everything we wanted to do in MK by 3PM. We coupled this with an 8AM BOG breakfast reservation and rode mine train before the park opened (which knocked out a huge time-suck). It was pretty empty and we could pretty much do whatever we wanted with minimal waits (~20 minutes on the longer end). I HIGHLY recommend going on a hard-close night, especially if you have another night scheduled to see the parades/wishes. People think they are getting less "value" since the park closes early. What they fail to realize is while there is a perceived less value since the hours are shorter, you can be MUCH more efficient in those 10 hours the park is open versus the 14 hours it may be open on other nights when people feel they're getting the most bang for their buck since the park is open later. Thus, less really is more.
