Hi,
I just found out that my husband is going to London for business at the end of March and beginning of April-- my six year old son and I are going to tag along. We have never been to either England or France, so are uncertain about what we can fit in-- but my son is begging to go to Disneyland Paris. So I have a few questions I am hoping someone can help us out:

If we are in London, how would we go about getting to DLP? What mode of transportation (I am willing to rent a car, but is it worth it?)? How long would it take? What is the approximate cost? Are there one or two day tours-- are they worth it financially-- or like the packages at WDW, more expensive than if you do it separately?

We have APs to WDW and have been to DL in CA once (and were able to do most of the two parks in a day, although we were at the parks for four days doing stuff). In comparison to these parks, how much of DLP can we cover in a day? Are there two parks? Are the parks similar to DL and WDW? What is the best tour book for the DLP?

What kind of tickets are availabe for DLP-- one day, two day park hopper, etc.? What is the cost?

Thanks, Diane

Hi Diane!

The best way to get to DLP from London is to take the train - the Eurostar - from Waterloo all the way to DLP!

There are two parks - the Disneyland Park which is in effect the Magic Kingdom and the newer Walt Disney Studios - the Disneyland Park will need at least a day to tour, but do not expect the Studios to be on a par with WDW MGM Studios. It is much smaller and has fewer attractions.

It is a short walk from the station into either park, or from one park to another or from some of the resorts to the parks - this is a great bonus here.

I would recommend staying a couple of nights to enjoy the park(s) .

We generally book a package which includes Eurotunnel, resort stay and passes(unlimited entry whilst you are there) - for booking from USA hopefully someone else can help out with this and do check past threads which will give you lots of info.

I'd recommend reading the trip reports too which are indexed at the top of the board to give you some insight into what you can expect from the parks.

If you could possibly visit on weekdays rather than a weekend, the parks should be less busy and I'd try to make it before the Easter vacation for the same reason.

Check out the official site http://www.disneylandparis.com too.

Thanks so much for your answers. Out of curiosity, how long is the train ride from Waterloo to DLP. Thanks, Diane

Ok, I have read the trip reports, found an on line guide to DLP, and tried to book the Eurorail to Paris on their webpage-- but I have a glitch-- I can get to Paris if I book using leisure travel, but I can't get a return train on any of the days during which I am going to be there. I tried booking business-- but I can't get a ticket for my son. Is this typical??? Should I call Eurorail for information??

Also, does any tour company offer a one day trip to DLP from London? Or a two day trip-- one to tour Paris and the other day at DLP?

Thanks so much for your help. Diane

I wonder if it would help if your tried for a return to DLP rather than Paris - you could use DLP as your base and take a train to Paris from there for one day or one of the organised tours.

Did you explore Eurostar's site? They do have booking tips and a section with hotels etc plus their international telephone number.

The only thing I can advise is to keep trying for your trip dates to see if you can get the return - sounds like they are heavily booked.
