Going to launch a website :) for young couples

No I simply deleted previous posts because our site isn't up yet, and a lot of people here are being extremely rude and ignorant in my eyes and I'm not going to contribute to it. They take it as if I'm being smug, or rubbing it in their faces that my house is worth more than theirs, or we have more money in the bank then them when that isn't the case. It's simply to show young couples out there that no matter what kind of situation you are you anything is possible. You don't have to sit there on the couch and cry like we did because you think you will be stuck for life. I am sorry if that comes off rude but hey you know what I have tried to be as polite as I can be. So I deleted these posts simply so everyone calms down and goes back to being themselves.

I didn't see anyone post anything that could be considered extremely rude.
Perhaps you just have thin skin.

And no, you didn't delete your posts because the site isn't running yet. You deleted them because people were being "haters" and "ignorant".

Here's a tip, don't ask for criticism if you can't handle the criticism that comes your way.

I don't think he asked for criticism. I think he was just excited about his idea and wanted to share the news, but the thread didn't go in the direction he expected. Some of the responses weren't exactly encouraging: I thought a young couple that was doing well in the areas *that were financially important to them* and wanted to share it with others was uplifting, but obviously others did not agree.

Thanks purple. Theres just a lot of negativity on these boards because a lot of these people are so miserable in their own lives they take everything the wrong way. If you are doing better than them they take it as an insult or your rubbing their noses in it. Whatever the case may be, they wont be our target audience. Maybe if there were websites like the one we are going to be building was around when they were starting out they wouldn't be in the position they are now and therefore could live happier and nicer lives.

You know what happens when you ASSume...

Just drop this post and move on with your website.

Just because people disagree with you doesn't make them miserable. You can't believe your mom when she tells you people are just jealous...Sometimes they are just in a different place, sometimes they are just looking to talk back and forth, not understanding that you want nothing but your own ideas addressed, and sometimes you may even find out that you aren't always right.

what might be a better website is :
- wait until you have children,
- drop your OH's salary (completely if being a SAHM, or half if working part time or having to pay for child care)
- upgrade to a family car
- suddenly have to pay for 3 or 4 people (kids are as expensive, if not more than adults) on less money than you currently live on for the 2 of you.

If you can maintain a debt free lifestyle, vacations every year, nice big house and not a CC in sight .... THAT will be an achievement and definately a blog people will take notice of - its a much bigger audience!

And the country I originate from, if I could buy a 3 bed house with 1/3 acre for $250k I bite your arm off, starter houses come in about that price - thats a 2 bed, TINY condo with no yard or parking.

Its all relative.
