Husbear has been wanting to go to anaheim gayday for several years now, but we always have conflicts (this year is no exception). Last night we were talking about vacation plans for next year (that can get me back to alaska airlines mvp status...I really miss those exit rows) and he actually said "Since we can never get Anaheim to work out, how about we go to disney world gaydays?" (This is from the man who claims MK is just a pale imitation of DL and that everything is better on the left coast!). "You're serious. You want to do the crowds and the heat and the humidity?" "Yeah, why not? It'll be a kick in the pants."

Ooh ooh ooh! ("Sit down please, Mr. Horshhack.")

So much to do. Off-site or on? Package or pieces? How many days? Hard-ticket events? Dining plan? OG or TGM? Gotta start walking! Gotta lose some weight! Gotta get a counter!

As you can see from this sig, we only average a WDW trip about once every 5 years.

I'm as giddy as a school girl!!!!

Ive never been to Disney land but I have been to California and Ill take Florida any day :thumbsup2

Congrats Redbear.

Having grown up with WDW but grown into DL, I know what he means. I must say that the MK park of DL did make me feel more like I was "in" frontierland, etc. Not as much concrete, etc. It was very homey. I love it when it's not crowded.

As for Fla ... you wouldn't catch me dead there in the summer. I grew up there for 17 years and hated every hot day. Hence... I off-season it and don't make gay days. WDW is another world, literally. They share a Disney name and heritage, but they are so different. Of course the destruction of my beloved Mr Toad in WDW didn't win them my favours. But que sera sera...at least they pay Mr Toad homage in Poohs Adventure now. That was a kind, albeit minor, gesture.

However ... I'm so excited for you!

As Seattle is my favourite city in North America, if they ever built a DL-North in Washington ... I'd move in. It'd be Utopia!

I normally go to Gaydays every year (although it's easy for me since Im local LOL) Next year I hope to make it to Beach Ball. I always end up broke by the end of May for some reason and cant afford to go :confused3

Funny you should say that. About 20 years ago or so, the city of Seattle asked Disney Imagineering to prepare a proposal for a redesign of Seattle Center. Not a theme park, but basically a new urban park. I think I was one of three people in the city who were excited by the prospect. Unfortunately, what they proposed was just a little too radical for the citizens of Seattle ("it's too commercial" "they're getting rid of the fountain") and only small pieces were implemented: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/news/local/seattlecenter/regionsheart.html

We plan on going again for Gay Days at WDW. We had a great time this year, staying at Old KeyWest. There were quite of our kind staying there also.
We could hear the music coming from Typhoon Lagoon one night while we sipped drinks on our patio.
