Wondering what prices are like on everyday things, like milk, bread, big box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

I'm trying to figure out if it would be less expensive to buy a bunch of stuff here instead of buying it there. We are driving, so I can bring a bunch of stuff that doesn't have to be refrigerated.

Can anyone give me an idea what you pay for basic stuff?

Thanks!

Mary

I find the prices in Florida (Boca Raton) are basically the same as in NJ.

I do my shopping at Costco and BJs when down there. Publix prices have really risen over the past couple of years.

Try shopping in Super Walmarts or Super Targets for lower prices.

At Publix:
General Mills and Kellogg's cereals are on sale Buy 1 Get 1 free right now - $4.29

Milk - $2.89 (we usually shop around for this - can find it $2.59 sometimes at Target)

We buy Wonder bread (yeah, ain't we bad!) - it's $2.89

The sales are good at Publix - there is always cereal buy 1 get 1 free and other things like hot dogs, pasta, pasta sauce, etc. We wait until it goes on sale and stock up. The circular is on their web site and sales start Thursday. However, Target tends to have lower prices.

Have fun! :)

My friend who lives in Orlando does most of her grocery shopping at WalMart. Publix is more expensive unless it's on sale.

I shop at Publix all the time. I don't find the prices to be any higher on most things than other places. Produce and meat are the exception.
