Going to DL with someone who doesn't like DL.

Would you be willing to go to DL with someone who didn't like it, but they were able to get you passes with not having to wait in lines? Or would you rather be at DL with people who love it knowing you'll have a good time no matter what? I would rather be at DL with people who enjoy it because anyone who doesn't I think would ruin the enjoyment.

Well, that's easy for me to answer. I've been with someone who didn't like it, and that person really ruined my day - talk about being stressed out & tense.

I would much rather pay and enjoy anything with someone else who has a positive attitude.

I agree, I couldnt go with someone who just wasnt into Disney. You would walk around all day knowing that they are bored and putting up with it for you, while wishing they were off somewhere else.

I used to have a BF who was like this, and I was always grumpy at the end of the day when we did something he wasnt into, cause I felt like all day I was ruining his day.

Honestly what I would do is ask your friend if they would be willing to give up the extra ticket, and then pay them for it, then take someone you would rather go with. If they say "No I wanna go" then let them go with you, there is obviously a reason that they wanna head into the park.

yeah I do it every time I go with my dd seriously though, it really ruins it when your all excited and they look at you like your kinda brings you down..Id rather go by myself...

Ugh. Been there.

First off, my DH ( boyfriend then) didn't get the magic, allure or wonderfulness of Disney. But he indulged my DD & I anyway. He did the rides, he waited through the lines, etc. And this was in the beginning of August so the Summer crowd was in full force!
We had a good time b/c he wasn't a big baby throwing a hissy. But to make it easy on him & my DD (the 4 yo) we did half days. So he could have quiet & she could nap. We had a week so we took our time.

I want to go again (hoping next Oct) but b/c our DS will only be 3 & DH isn't a fan I will go alone with my DD. THat way when we bring DS (hoping when he's 4) DH can muster up his happy face for the occasion.

So I'd rather go with someone who enjoys it as much as me, sure...but luckily my husband is good about indulging and going with the flow.

(I went with a cousin once, who didn't like to go on rides. She sat around waiting for me half of the time, and I felt guilty!)

I think it entirely depends on the attitude of said person. If they would do it because they know you and yours would love it, and they love to see you happy and would be a good sport about the day, then I would definitely do it! Whenever we went to the Midwest to visit our grandparents, my grampa would haul all eight grandchildren (4 local and 4 of us from out of town) to some kind of kidfest. Can you imagine being the sole grown-up with eight kids, especially as we started to get into the teenage years, yeeeecch!

One year it was to a gigantic slide called the Giant Slipper. He bought an entire ROLL of tickets so we could go as much as we wanted, then wound up passing out tickets to anyone who came by. Another time it was to the town's sidewalk sale and summer festival. I can't imagine it was how he would have chosen to spend the day, but we had a blast, and absolutely adored this man!

If the person was going to be rolling their eyes, checking their watch, whining about how boring the place was, then I definitely would rather pay to get in than have to deal with that all day.

I did that once, with my husband and he kept asking "can we leave now". If you must go with the bummer person, try and lose him or her in the crowd. Don't take a cell phone so they can't find you! Just kidding. Personally i would never do it again. I leave my husband home now. ET

One of the fellows we went to DL with last fall is completely opposed to all things Disney . Usually his wife and daughter come with us and he stays home but this year, for some unfathomable reason, he decided that he was going to come. I will admit, I was very worried . There was no reason to, he had (and was) an absolute blast . There were 14 adults and teenagers in our group and he, along with the rest of us, stayed from morning to night doing rides, eating, watching shows and parades etc. He was so much fun ! I asked him if his opinion of Disney had changed and he said NO! It has a lot to do with the attitude of the person I guess...

Trust me it's worth a few extra dollars to avoid all the B@#*'ing and complaining. MY BIL works for Disney and gets free tickets. (ABC news) the way it used to work was he had to go to guest services and pick them up for us and since they were there go with us. Now they just get passes to hand out> It's cold, I'm tired, it's crowded why do I have to wait in line 40 mins to go on a 3 min ride? It's stupid, don't these people have anything better to do? OHH lets not forget the OK I have had it lets go home at 3 o'clock when we just got there at noon becasue they couldnt' get out of the house quickly enough and Finally "I WANT TO GO TO KNOTTS IT'S BETTER THAN STUPID DISNEYLAND"
