I just found this board and feel like I am home. We are going to DL in 7 days and staying at DLH for 4 days.

So, any secret, cool things that I must know about???

We are going eat at Ariel's Grotto and have breakfast at Goofy's kitchen. Any suggestions or hints would be great.

Thanks Alot,
Lisa

My daughter is 4 3/4. My son is just turned 3. My youngest daughter just turned 2.

Thanks for the welcome. I thought I was the only one who loved DL and all things disney. Nice to know that I am not alone.

:flower3: Hi there, welcome to disboards, glad you could come and join this happy haunt. Its a great site and everyone is awesome.

I dunno about secrets but just a quick thing that not a lot of people know about, is that if you go to Dis Cali Adventure park, go to the Disney Animation Studio and find out when their street performance of "Drawn to the magic is" (Usually several performances throughout the day). The show always includes 3 charcters, always mickey a princess and they swap up other characters as the 3rd character. Then you can go inside the studio and get pictures with them, their autographs etc. The lineups for them arnt as long as elsewhere in the parks. Usually only a 5 min wait.

One of the most useful things I have picked up from boards like these are that Fast passes are good all day. Even though they print an expiration time on them, CMs will take them up to the end of the day.

Also, if you have a child who does not meet height requirements, you can ask for a ride switch pass. This allows the parents to swap when one is finished in line without having to wait as long. My oldest DD loves this as she gets to do everything twice (Once with Mom, once with Dad) while the other parent stays behind with her 2 year old sis.

Oh, also camping out in the hub in front of the castle to see the fireworks IS worth the wait. The fireworks show is spectacular at the parks right now and really should be experienced in the hub at least once. I am also told that many have enjoyed it from the it's a small world area where they also do projections and it is less crowded but you miss some effects like my favorite, the room stretching thing from Haunted Mansion.

Welcome to these boards. You'll find everyone very friendly and eager to help each other out!

First of all welcome!!!! Hmm secrets or tips...well you could try to find the little golden dot/spike that marks the centre of Disneyland if you haven't before. One thing that I want to mention is go to the theatre on main street and watch the old mickey cartoons. I had been to DL three times before I knew you could go behind the red curtains, I had no idea it even existed. Of course if you go more often you probably already know about it and then it's not as exciting for you.

And my last tip for you is : CORN DOG! We had one of these when we were too late for breakfast but didn't feel like sitting down for lunch so we had a corn dog and I must say they were AWESOME!

Another fun thing to do is get a map from City Hall of where all the penny squisher machines are and collect as many of them as you can.

Have a great trip!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I did not know that you could go behind the red curtain. We will try that. We will also try to find the center of disneyland.

Thanks for the info. I am so excited!!! Probably more excited than the kids and for sure my hubby.

I think I am going to have to take a little notebook with all my insider tips.
