My son just got approved for a wish and he is wishing for Disney. We are so ecited. He was debating between disney and meeting a wwe wrestler.
Michael has Rhabdomyosarcoma (cancer)He is doing really well.
I found this board and hope to get lots of tips on how to make this a wonderful trip.We have 7 kids under the age of 11 so I know it will be a ton of fun.It will probaly be a once in a lifetime ttrip for my husband and i as we could never afford a trip to disney.

I am sorry to hear of your son's illness. You are going to have a wonderful family vacation. There is a lot of reading on these boards that will offer great things for you to see and experience. Have fun!!:goodvibes
I have worked with MAW in the past, I live in VT and we have many kids who have never seen snow and want to come here to go skiing. Brrr...Disney is a much better choice!!

Welcome to the Dis. There is so much information here to be found. I am sorry to hear about your son's illness, but so glad to hear he got his Wish.

If you can get everyone up and going in the morning, Rope Drop at MK and finding a paint brush on Tom Sawyer's Island is great fun.

What a wonderful blessing this trip has brought your family, and surely will continue to bring as your trip gets closer! I'll be sending good vibes :goodvibes your way and pray for a healthy recovery. I hope you have the time of your lives!

:welcome: So glad your family is getting this opportunity. Have you checked out our disABILITIES board? http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=365&f=20 There is tons of information there to help you deal with any medical issues you may have.

I think there is a WISH Trip thread somewhere, but I can't remember where. If I come across it I will post it here.

What a great choice! I am sorry to hear about your son's illness but this will be a trip of a lifetime. You have come to the right place for a wealth of info on Disney. Have a wonderful trip?

I am wishing him and your family the strength to beat it.

As far as "make a wish", once again, they prove to be an
awesome organization.

Sorry to hear about your son's condition. You will be in our thoughts and prayers as well. MAW is amazing! You and your family will truly enjoy Disney and there is unlimited information here on Disboards, plus there are many great people that can answer any questions you may have. Have a great trip!

I agree, you have definately come to the right place to help plan your Once in a Lifetime vacation!! You will find tons of information!
When is your trip, and which resort are you allowed to stay at? I'm so curious how MAW plans these magical trips. Hopefully this will help bring a big smile to your little boys face!

We dont have a date set yet but we told them we would like to go in November or beginning of December. We are supposed to find out more details next week.He is so excited. He has looked at all the rides online an is most excited about the rides at animal kingdom. His little sister keeps asking if she will get to be a princess.

Oh I'm sure his little sister will definately get to be a Princess! That's what is so magical about Disney -- all the little girls become beautiful princesses. princess: The boys can be whoever they want too!

First of all, I am so sorry to hear of your son's illness, Michael will most definitely be in my thoughts and my prayers! What a tremendous opportunity the MAW foundation offers to so many and I am so happy to hear that all of you have been blessed with this wonderful trip! It will be fantastic!! ...and the dates you requested, so perfect!! It is just THE most magical time of year to be at Disney, so so beautiful! Enjoy the planning and preparations (I swear, sometimes I think that part of it is almost as much fun as the trip itself... :p ) and tell Michael, he's going to love AK, he's right some of those rides are pretty awesome! :) Have fun!!!!

Welcome! I am sorry about your child's illness. I am leaving in one week on a Wish Trip for my friend Lauren. I am her CNA (she has CP and uses a wheelchair full time). You can check out my pre-trip report below, if you want. Just follow the link... :)

Also...check out the "Disabilities" thread...and then look on the sticky thread about Wish Trips...you can follow that...we have a thread just for wish trips. We talk about other stuff, too! You will find out all kinds of information about your trip and meet other folks that are in the same or similar situation that you are in! :)

Hi all sorry to hear about your son's ilness, can you tell me how long the process was for make a wish? my nephew has a condition in which his life span was only 3 months well he just turned 8 in august:cheer2: he is confined to a wheelchair and also has a form of cerebral palsy, and my mom and I would love for them to go to disney but with 3 other children under 5 its hard as he also suffers from seizures and flying would be out they would need to drive 21 hours but they would be up to it, any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

I hope you have a fantastic trip! It is absolutely the trip of a lifetime! We did MAW with my oldest DD when she was 5 (she is 12 now). The Give kids the world village is awesome! (I'm assuming that is where you will stay.) Also, don't worry about little sis...at the give kids the world village...she will be treated just as "special" as brother! Have fun! :flower3:
