I moved you to the main thread - oh, and by the way, I was also at Disneyland on that same exact weekend when you were there in 2008 - the Miley Cyrus birthday weekend!!

You should also look at www.allears.net and go to the disneyland side, then dining and look at menus there.

As far as crowds. The Halloween party nights will be busy I think they are on Tuesday and Friday that week. You should attend one great fun for all the family. If you don't attend DL will close real early that night, this might put some pressure on DCA. Take a look at these links and look at the halloween thread on this board also.

We were there too that weekend, and I remember it being really hot!

Halloween time is becoming more and more popular, so I would expect crowds. Most AZ schools have fall break the week of Oct 11th.

It was really hot - and you're in AZ, so if you thought it was hot out here it must have been hot!!:rotfl2: We had a crazy heat wave (for late September/beginning of October) all week long leading up to that weekend. It was in the 100's most of the week, and I think by Thursday or Friday it had dropped down to upper 90-something. Then, it was overcast for a little while on Saturday but it climbed to upper 80's, but it still felt warmer than that. I can't remember the weather on the Miley Cyrus party day, but I know they let people into DLR really early (6:00 a.m., I think?) and the crowds in DTD and around the Resort picked up very early in the day, as guests for the party arrived.

Thanks Sherry. We are really excited to go. I earned a trip to WDW for June for the direct selling company I work for but me and my husband decided to take the cg option and take the family to DL instead. We figured we would pay about the same amount for 7 days in CA then we would for 3 days in FL.

I've been to DL the last four years in a row 2006 and 2009 end of the month for my birthday (oct 25th). 2007 and 2008 the weekend of Miley's birthday bash. 2007 was so mellow hardly anyone there; 2008 was the busiest off season visit I've ever experienced. October is one of my favorite times to go to DL. Last year we did the Mickey's Trick or Treat Party at DCA it was really fun I definitely plan to do it again. I didn't notice it being any busier the day of the party either. The weather is usually so pleasant with the exception of Miley's sweet 16 it was very hot and some how I forgot to pack any shorts or skirts for my then 2 year old so she wore her diaper and t shirt one day till I could get her some hot weather clothes.
In 2006 we went to Laguna beach which was really nice. I feel like it was a little bit of a drive away but I don't know how close any of the other beaches are so it might not have been that far in comparison. You can google the the distances of the local beaches from DL.
I hope this helped in some way. Enjoy your trip! I'm going the end of November this year cause I want to see the christmas decorations but I'm kind of sad not to be going in October.

hot in october :)
what date was the miley cyrus bday weekend?

Miley's party was October 5th, which was a Sunday. It was a reported 105 degrees on Tuesday, the 7th. It felt like it too!

Wow I did not realize how hot it was. When we drove home that weekend we drove through a snowstorm
