Going to BWI with husband and 2 teens what room request should I make?

May 12-18 we will be at BWI. This trip is for a conference that is being held there and have a little down time with our family. We have 2 teenage girls that will be traveling with us and they are not really into the kiddie pool. They do however like the quiet pool and fireworks. We will also be celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary on the 16th. What room request should we make? What are our chances of being upgraded and where do I go to request these things?

If you have standard view reserved, I would request garden or courtyard view (which are part of standard view). Some of the standard views face the front driveway and the walkway to the bus stop, which aren't that great. Some of the courtyard rooms on upper floors face Epcot over the roof and you can see the fireworks.

Since your sig says you stayed there in 2002 you should know the layout of the hotel pretty well. Ask to stay in the area you liked.

Reserve what you need and don't count on getting an upgrade. They are few and very far between. If you get one, great but don't expect it.

I would ask to be placed near the center of the resort (near the elevators). It can be a very long walk to the room if you're located at the end of a corridor. Try and look at a map of how the rooms are laid out before you make your request.

I agree with Mamatipo, it can also be a long walk if you are in the building right next to the quiet pool.

You have to leave that building as it is not connected to the main building, walk across the rose garden area, up the main steps to the building, and then down the hall to the lobby.

Also if it is raining you will get wet going to the main building.

We stayed in the rooms in the middle of the courtyard last year. They are very nice! They are very quiet, convenient to the pool, and scenic. On the down side they are a long walk to the lobby, bus stop and Boardwalk, you can't see the fireworks and you will get wet walking from them. While we did stay at the BWI and I know what room w were in I am not sure it is the best place to be and wanted some other opinions. I spent most of my time at BWI in my room, at the pool or at the bus stop. The rest of my time I was out and about. It is always good to listen to what others have to say about their stay and then make an informed decision as to where you would like to be. We did this with our Yacht Club room and I don't think we could have gotten a better one if we tried. Thanks Again for all of your help!

We stayed here with dvc points new years 1999. We got the next to the last room the furthest from the lobby it took at least 20minutes to walk to it. We were closer to the dolphin across the canal. I would never stay that far away again. After a long day at the parks and trying to get back to the room, or to the car was exhausting. We were behind the quiet pool. SO please request something closer.
