You really must see "In My Life" - it was so unexpectedly awesome! :goodvibes

Now I am jealous. :guilty: I want to go to a Broadway show!

Hmmmm, I'll be there in December. I'll check it out. Who's in it?

There wasn't any men running around in ballerina tights were there? :confused3

Nobody famous in it - it was written by Joseph Brooks who wrote "you light up my life".

It is just a quirky, funny, touching, musical love story. DH even liked it so much he wants to see it again!!

Oh, you got to have friends,
the feeling's oh so strong.
You got to have friends
to make that day last long.
Had some friends, but they're gone,
somethin' came and took them away,
and from the dusk 'til the dawn
here's where I will stay.

Standing at the end of the road, boys,
waitin' for my new friends to come.
I don't care if I'm hungry or cold, freezing.
I got to get me some.

'Cause you got to have friends.
Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba.
Friends.
"Oh, that's the favorite part of my voice, you know.
I really like to get up. Hm."
Oh, friends.
"Thank you."
Oh, friends, friends, friends, friends.
I had some firends, oh, but they're all gone, gone.
Somethin' took 'em away,
and from the dusk 'til the dawn
here is where I'm gonna stay, you know, oh.

Standing at the end of a real long road, Jack,
and I'm waitin' for those new friends to come,
and I don't care if I'm jungry or freezing, freezing cold.
You gotta, you gotta get me some.

'Cause you gotta have,
"you gotta have friends. I'm telling you. I am speaking 'cause I know. It's going too fast. We're all going too fast! I'm trying to tell you to slow down! They're hard to come by! Those friends are hard to come by! I didn't have many friends, you know. But, things are getting better now. And I think it's gonna be okay, 'cause I have a couple now."

Friends,
you gotta, you gotta, you gotta have friends, friends.
You gotta, you gotta, you gotta have friends, friends.
Oh, friends . . .

Smile sweetie!! :sunny:

I guess I'll just have to wait for it to come out on DVD.
Unless, of course, you and Kramer videotape it next time you go and mail me a copy. :teeth:

I'm surprised!! The commercials look so hokey....we might have to check it out now! We saw The Odd Couple week before last....Amazing!! And tonight, we're off to see Rent again for the 20th time...once more before the movie comes out!

I was surprised how much I loved it. I never listen to the critics - they didn't like Good Vibrations or All Shook Up and we loved them. I'm going to see Jersey Boys on the 20th - can't wait.

Have you heard anything about the revival of Sweeney Todd? We have tickets for early December and I'm excited to see what they'll do with it. I love the "dark" shows on Broadway, like The Pillowman, which was one of my favs this past year.

I haven't seen it yet; Playbill.Com gave it high marks.

I'm finally going to see Phantom for the first time, in two weeks!

I listen to the radio as I work....I love the songs they play on the commercial. I know I want to get the CD. I don't get to go to the theater as much as I would like...just too expensive for the great seats.

If you sign up at Playbill.com they have some good specials.

I've done that....some good stuff. I don't make a lot of money, so I can't do Broadway & do other things.

Sounds great! We still haven't seen Phantom yet either. My wife just isn't interested for some reason.

Funny that we're talking about NYC entertainment today. I just went down to check the mail, we received our tickets for The Nutcracker at Lincoln Center! We put in for the lottery about 3 weeks ago and I was concerned that we weren't going to get the night that we really wanted, but we got our 1st choice seats (Orchestra) on our 1st choice night! We've been to the ballet in the past, but never made it to the Nutcracker, as we always seem to get so busy around Christmas time, with out of town friends and relatives dropping in to stay at our place (why, oh why did we get a 3 bedroom?!?!? ;) ). We're doing it for my wife's birthday, so it should be fun.

NYC Ballet is one of the world best troupes, but I hear that The Nutcracker's beyond incredible. Have you ever been?

No, we have never been to the ballet. We have lived in NY all our lives, but never took advantage of all it has to offer. We go to Disney a few times a year!

We finally started going to Broadway this year, and we both love it so much we have seen about 10 shows already this year! I think we will work our way up to ballet! Have a wonderful time!
