going to Boston - help! (update page 2)

although the Red sox are away here is something to check out at Fenway park!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/bos/ballpark/bos_ballpark_tour.jsp

I have been on these a couple of tinmes and maybe checking it out again on Saturday as this is the only way to get into the NEW monter Seats without a ticket!!!

FYI if you are going to bethere Thursday and Friday July 17 and 18th the REd Sox are home!!! for night games starting at 7pm!!!
You should be able to get tickets !! even though they say the game is sold out you can still get tickets at the box office on the day of games without paying scalpers prices!!!!

There's also a spa at the Boston Harbor Hotel...right by the Aquarium and Marroit Long Wharf........my sister went for a day spa thing for "mom's getaway by herself" while she was in New England for a family vacation from Colorado in April. She loved it.

I don't have much to add to the all the suggestions......except to second for Mikes' Pastry........(mmmmmmmmmmm...cannolis to die for!!........Fanieul Hall and Newbury St for shopping.......the Swan boats in the Common's Public Garden.........

you know, this thread reminds me that even having grown up 20 minutes west of the city, and gone to college at BC.......its time for a weekend in the Hub ;) :teeth:

Have fun!!!!

Great lists!! I would highly recommend the North End. They have feasts of the saints with a different one every weekend in the summer. One of my grand mother lived in the North End so I was there everyo weekend as a child. The feasts can be a lot of fun.

Another place that I don't believe was mentioned is Bunker Hill Monument (actually fought on Breed's Hill).

OK, I promised you an update when I got back. I loved Boston! Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I did the Duck tour one day and went whale watching another day. We saw 6 humpback whales and a lot of minke (sp?) whales. I shopped, walked my feet off, and gained 4 pounds from all of the great food I ate. I tried to go to Mike's Pastry shop, but it was closed the day I was over there.

I definitely want to go back for a vacation. Even though I saw a lot, there were so many more things I wanted to do.

Again, a big thank you for everyone who gave me suggestions on things to do! You live in a wonderful area!
