Going to an EMH park without EMH

We're planning to do DCA on a Wednesday in off-season (late January), but won't have EMH privileges (we are going to DL with EMH the next day, so can't change parks that day).

Any tips on how to start the day? How would rope drop happen for non-EMH guests (or do we have to stay outside the park gates until opening time?)

I also read somewhere that bc rope drop is at Ariel's, Soarin is not blocked off, so non EMH ppl can technically ride it before the day begins. Confirm/deny? Any other hacks like that?

Confirmed - Soarin' was not blocked off this week - On Thursday we got into the park at 0730, could have walked on to Soarin', but we opted to "wait for B1" (best view), and still made it up to Ariel's for the rope drop at 0800.

Yes Soarin has been open like you said.

Often DCA will let folks through and hold them at ropes. If you have MaxPass you can start making FP reservations as soon as your tickets are scanned.

Other than that there are not any secrets of which I am aware. There are lots of rides open during EMH and that will disburse the EMH guests. So some rides will still have short lines. Look for those or tough out the longer lines through standby because they are only going to get longer.
