Hi all,

We are due to leave for our 2nd christmassy trip in a months time (26th November!), and I was just curious as to what peoples thoughts were on inventions recently?

We usually always only do Cafe Mickey/Rainforest which we love both, but this time as we're going for 5 nights we fancied trying something different.

I'm not the most easiest eater, so was wondering what "fussy" foods there are available?

Thanks a lot.

Hi!

I'm thinking of Inventions for our next trip too. I've not been for a couple of years, but from what I've seen on the restaurant reviews the food seems pretty similar.

My impressions on our first visit were good, although you need a good appetite to make is good value! We had the premium vouchers back then so it wasn't an issue, but our DD was unwell so we couldn't make the most of it.

Do you like seafood? There's a lot! Also the usual salad & cold meat selection, a variety of hot dishes in sauces, carved meats, a range of kids bits and a very impressive dessert selection! That ALONE makes me want to go back! :cloud9:

I can take photos for you on our trip if you like?! :goodvibes

We ate there 2 months ago and enjoyed it as much as ever. The food selection was as plentiful as usual. I filled up mainly on starters and desserts and even then I didn't really do it justice as there were plenty I didn't get around to. There was quite a good selection of main courses as well, especially if you love beef, lamb and pork in sauces.
We saw lots of characters and they all made a point of coming over for a photo or just to mess around with us, even though we had no young children with us (my daughter was 13 at the time).

Highly recommended....but not cheap.

We ate there last May (after a break of 5 years) and it was just as good as I'd remembered. ::yes::

I love the starters too - I always tell myself I'll only go up once for starters so that I have more room for the mains but somehow I always seem to end up at that starter section a second time .....

I'm hoping to do the Sunday Brunch next summer - I've arranged it so that I arrive on a Sunday so will be very disappointed if it's not longer taking place.

We're booked for the Sunday Brunch on our upcoming trip, I am quite apprehensive as we had a bad experience here on our 1st trip. I'm hoping things will be better this time around :wizard:

I'm thinking of dinner at Inventions one evening during this upcoming trip, something special and I've never even set foot in DLH so it'd definitely be exciting.
Can you use half board plus vouchers at Inventions?
I did ask the lady on the phone at Disney, but I don't trust all the information they give, since I'm sure most probably won't have actually visited Disneyland Paris.

Hey M2B - I'd really appreciate this, thank you! :)

I'm not a fan of most sauces generally, do all the meats come splattered in the stuff? :lmao:

As I remember, a lot of the meat dishes were in sauce. The carved meats were carved to order though I think, so you'd be safe with those!

I'm going with my MIL on this trip and she's not a fan of sauces either, so watch out for our review - could be a useful one!! :thumbsup2

Did you see the photos of the desserts though...???

I really like the food in inventions, we have been 4 times, once to Sunday Brunch.

Unfortunately it's off my list for next trip as I was very disappointed with the amount of characters we saw and with the level of interaction.

The Sunday brunch was excellent though, impressed with the food and although there was only 6 characters at that they were all brilliant.

Maybe it was just an off night when we went, only in terms of characters, food was as good as ever.

Usually eat here once per trip. Always plenty of choice and I tend to mix starters with main and desserts, and then back to mains and then maybe finish with another starter.

My wife is a veggie and she enjoys it. Even our young children enjoy it (especially with the Character interaction). This is usually one of the best places for character time while having a really good meal with plenty of space around to enjoy it.

It is expensive. You pay for good food and characters and location.

The deserts is what attracted me most I think!! :rotfl:

Great, thanks in advance and hope you enjoy your stay! I can't wait!!
