Ok my seems silly to be all excited....but we have nothing left around here! All the indepentant stores closed so we just have Joanne's and Mikes!
I am headed to the Flower warehouse! I love this place. It is fun just to look around the entire place! But the scrapbooking room is great and has nice prices! I hope I find a scrapbook I llike!
Oh happy day!

I'm jealous, I have heard rave reviews from you and Maggie about the Flower store. I wanna go!!!!!!

Have fun and I hope you find some great deals!

well it wasnt' as productive as I thought. I did get some nice paper....gotta love paper....I have been so good about only buying for pictures I have....but I did splurge just a little.
As for albums....very few! The lady said they were placing a large order next week....sigh....
I did get a fine point white paint pen. Can't wait to play with it. I have a gold one. I love to edge paper with the pen to create a neat edge....
as for embellishments...wow have they gotten expensive! so I only got a few...

Spinning, remember the Second Floor Scrapbook Store? It sold and kind of went downhill. It was sold again and it is fabulous. I know it is a field trip for you but maybe sometime. The original owner moved to Florida and now works for Disney. She's thinking of opening a store down there.

Is it worth an hour drive? Mapquest says 37 miles from me, but mostly on back roads (I assume with lights). Good prices, good selection?

Definitely, It is now called Photo Scraps. It is a very active store with lots of classes and activities going on all the time. She keeps the shelves stuffed. She's even had to have sales to make room for new arrivals. I would grab a friend and make it a day with lunch. You could spend quite a bit of time in the store. It's about 3,000 square feet. I've sort of gotten out of scrapping for a while. I'm trying to get myself moving again

hey chessie, good to see ya on the boards!! maggie

Thanks Maggie,

It's been a while. I need to go through all my scrapbook supplies and see what I need. I have 2 grandkids that need to be scrapped and a ton of pictures just begging me to scrap them

WOW! Chessie talk about a blast from the past! Where have you been hiding yourself?!?!?/
Grandkids! Wow bet they keep you hopping!
This store sounds so familiar. Was it orginally the one near the yard sale we all went to years ago?
I map quested and it is about 2 hours from me!
Hey Maggie how far is it from you?

I just lost my creative spirit for a while. After my son passed I just didn't want to scrap. I got into beading instead. Less painful. I am ready and really eager to get back to it. I came on the board to see what everyone was doing. Looks like a lot of people are into digital scrapping. Although I like fooling around on the computer, I think I still prefer the touchie feelie kind of scrapping.

I can understand needing a break. But I am sure you find comfort in your photos of your son and the books you created with him. Sometimes a break is a good thing.
I thought about doing the beading and decided.......it would break the bank! LOL! The stuff is so pretty! We have a great little store near us. I look all the time and then leave!
Glad you are back! I come and go on this board! I really try to get motivated by reading and looking. The digital stuff is amazing. I just don't know if I could ever get into it. But it actually gives me ideas for my paper pages. Just how the pictures get overlaped is inspiring. I normally never do that but I love the look of it!
Hope to see you around on the DIS!

I have to say, I've been sucked into the whole digital scrapping thing. :) it's pretty fun. :) of course, I still have all kinds of scrapping supplies to still use. :) good to see ya back though! maggie

Thanks for the warm welcome back

I bought my PSE about a year and a half ago. We had to make a personal goal at work so I chose to learn the software. I fooled around with editing my photos and also designing with layers. I barely scratched the surface of what that software can do. I'd like to learn more but I can't seem to follow the tutorials on line. I'm such a paper addict I am not sure if I could totally go digital. I have tons of kits. I used to subscribe to Scrapbook Answers till they went out of business.

In the beading world I am what you would call a stitcher. Most of my work is done with seed beads with a few gemstones thrown in for good measure. Spinning, Next time you wonder into you LBS ask if they have any beginning stitching classes. It's very economical.

rofl, I have pse 5 and yeah, really no clue what it can do, it's just been a blast downloading all the free kits... there are so many cute ones! I love it in that I'm caught up on certain things like school that I was beginning to worry about. :) she's in 8th grade and so far I'm totally on top of it. :) It was really fun to scrap the field trips from 7th grade digitally because I could find all kinds of stuff that I would not have found in the "real" world. (and don't even get me started on irish dance... there isn't anything in the "real" world, but in the digital world... I can make my own stuff! I think that's the most awesome part about it. :) I still love making the paper bag books, exploding boxes, word books but the scrapping is so much easier... and my new cats can't mess up all the layouts! :) maggie

CHESSIE! Welcome Back! You've been missed!

I've got pse also and still can't figure out how to do anything but crop and resize photos :(

Found a fab scrapbook store in Jacksonville for those of you who drive to Disney - The crop Shoppe, on the corner of Old St. Augustine and Hartley. We don't have an LSS any more either, and sometimes I just gotta breathe in the essence of paper!
