Hello everyone, I am new here so I'm a little shy lol, but I have a few questions. I have decided it would be best for me to go random for the DCP in regards to my roommate(s) and was wondering, has anyone here gone random? If so, how did it go?

Hello everyone, I am new here so I'm a little shy lol, but I have a few questions. I have decided it would be best for me to go random for the DCP in regards to my roommate(s) and was wondering, has anyone here gone random? If so, how did it go?

I went random for both of my programs and had a different result each time. The first time was perfect. The 4 of us got along really well. We didn't hang out together in the parks much because we all had different roles in different locations MK photopass, CS bell services, CR recreation, and me in HS merch. We did see each other at home at night and had several movie drinking game nights. The only point of contention was the dishes and even that wasn't that bad. This was an amazing experience with people I still keep in touch with.

Now my second program...

There were again 4 of us who met randomly. My immediate roommate was ok. He didn't do a lot other than work, play video games, and sleep. His side of the room was constantly messy but he kept it to his area. The other half of the apartment was nuts. The one person was a short meathead bodybuilder with a Napoleon complex who had a different girl spending the night every other day. I'm not OK with someone I didn't know staying in my apartment where I would routinely leave my laptop, wallet, car keys, and watch sitting out in the open. He would also leave dishes piled up and would reuse the same pans and pots several times before cleaning them. The other guy in that room had actual diagnosed ADD and moved out to live with a girl he met two weeks prior. He didn't tell housing that he was moving and he left all of his sheets some clothes, and other smaller belongings there. Needless to say I spent as much time out of my apartment as possible.

I was going to go random (I assume you can for Cultural Rep Program) as, of right now, I don't know anyone else going out at the same time as me...

Is there moving options if it is awful and you don't get on with anyone in the house?

I'm not too worried but if worst comes to worst it'd be nice to know you can swap rooms rather than having to quit the progam. =/

My daughter is not on the DIS or I would have her reply. She just got home from FA 2014 and chose to go random. She was placed in an 8-person apt. with 6 girls who met on FB and one other random(roommate). She is fairly shy and quieting she is comfortable. Anyway, she loved it! After a month or so she and she and three others became very close and they had so much fun! While she wasn't super close to the others it was an ok situation with just the usual spats over cleaning and dishes. She may return after graduation and would go random again if heR friends don't go back. Good luck!

My daughter just finished FA 2014. She is now working at Magic Kingdom full time. She did the option where they choose your roommates and wishes she would've chose ahead of time. If YOU choose then you can talk on FB or text ahead of time.
Her roommate situation was not great. She lived in a 3 bedroom, so 5 roommates, which was fine. BUT their apartment was like a revolving door. She had both Americans and internationals which wouldn't be a big deal but everyone had different arrival and departure dates. So it seemed people were always coming and going. Only a couple of them were there her whole program and they had a hard time getting along. My daughter is very easy going and just made the best of it. But she definitely would do it differently if she did the program again. She mainly hung out with friends from work. She did not get close to her roommates, she thought about moving but it was too big of s hassle.
Hope this helps. Also, commons has washers and dryers in the Apartment where as the others don't.
