Going Outside My Comfort Zone

I am about like those guys right now!! I did some packing today and and I just played with my phone for about an hour to get a booked downloaded to listen to on the plane.. Thank goodness for Carey who talked me through it. Sometimes I am really smart.....this was not one of those time. LOL
Time to shower and call it a night.

I keep hearing how you don't need that many days at DLR because it is smaller, but I really think I will. I want to do as much as I can and you know how much I like MK at WDW. I could go 7 days in a row just there. :thumbsup2
I wish we knew what was planned, so like you said I can prioritze the things we won't be doing on Monday. But I guess if it's wonderful enough I can try to get Skip there next year! He is on a mission on learning how to earn airline points. LOL
I can't wait to go camera happy. it will be a whole new set of pictures!

Yay!!! I am going to be doing a march.....and then again in March. :rotfl2: I crack myself up! :rotfl:

I did not know that. One thing I am not sure about is how much character time I will find as I will be with adults. I might have to sneak in one or 2...for research purposes. :rolleyes1 I would love to see Steamboat Willie though.

So does this mean that next time I travel and want to listen to a book on my phone, you are now an expert and can help me figure it out? If not, there's always Carey! :cool1:

I think you have the right approach with viewing this trip as research to get Skip out there next year. Does he look at many of your photos you take on vacation? Maybe that will help get him on board. :thumbsup2

You really don't have to plan nearly as much for DLR. That drove me nuts on our last trip because I WANTED to be planning and there really just wasn't much TO plan. But since Katie's school schedule is important in our schedule this year, it will be nice that I can wait until after school starts in the fall to even think about the trip. I could get used to this!

I'm not surprised you won't have much character time. But if you do have time check out the area back in Frontierland behind BTMRR. It was the Jingle Jangle Jamboree at Christmas. I forget what they call it the rest of the year. Anyway, I think I read they were having some rare characters back there until April. Maybe that's to make up for them letting Billy Hill and the Hillbillies go. But they were supposed to have Suzy and Perla as one of the groups. :)

Mickey is in Toontown in his house. Our first time to meet him we waited 30-45 minutes. :faint: The second time we went during the 5:30 parade and walked straight through with no wait.

I want at least one character photo when you get back. But then I bet they have at least one character photo op as part of your conference.

Oh, I did not know this. Is this at Mickey's Toon Town? This has to go on the list for November.

Corinna

Hey Corinna, he's back in Toontown in his house. They only have all 3 going when it's really busy. The day we waited the longest we met bandleader Mickey. The night we went during the parade and there was no line we met Sorcerer Mickey. You won't know until you go back which one you will meet.

I can't wait to go camera happy. it will be a whole new set of pictures!

::yes:: I know I did especially in Toon town. IT was step....snap....step ....snap...:rotfl2:

Have a wonderful magical trip. Then come back and tell us all about it. ;)

You will be absolutely fine. Disneyland does not need nearly as much planning as Walt Disney World does. It is more laid back.

You sound pretty organized and well done on the successful shopping trip.

Corinna

Yep ,i am going in with an open mind and a go with the flo attitude.

3 days to go......... Glad you're practically packed. I hope your trip is practically perfect in every way! :cool1:

I hope so too. And I am pretty close to being done with packing now. Just the last minute things like money and ID to be switched over to the travel wallet!

Oh how fun about those rare characters. I wouldn't mind catching a glimpse of them.
Carey helped me along and it wasn't that hard, but the program I signed up with has a monthly fee after 30 days so I have to remember to cancel after I get back. I also heard my library has a system so when I get back I will check that out and see how to load one for my March trip.
We "should" have at least one photo op with Mickey. But who knows with the way they are running things this time.

I can see me walking just like that. I guess people better stay clear of me or might step on them! :rotfl:

Only two more days.......... I hope you left room in your luggage for all the treasures you pick up at Disneyland! ;)

The Treasure Room by mom2rtk, on Flickr

Well if I could find real treasure like that....I am not sure I want to come back! ;)

Well it's almost time.
I have finished up packing for the most part, straightened the house, did some more laundry so the rest of the family doesn't go naked all week. Ironically I told Paige that she may need to do her own laundry next week if she needs her work clothes cleaned. She replied "I'll just stockpile the clean ones or rewear things" Seriously? She is 21 and can't do a load of her own laundry? And I know she can as she did it while she lived on her own and while she lived with her Dad. She is too spoiled by me I guess.
If anyone has any last minute suggestions, I would love to hear them................Wait....I just opened myself up there. I mean suggestions for DL. HAH!

If you follow me on facebook I will be posting pictures and activities when I can on both my regular page and my business page. You can find my business page link on my regular page. You can search for jenseib to find me if we are not friends already. And please to comment on the pictures. It is always fun to read what people say when I am away.

I am not sure what time we will be leaving tomorrow, but my guess is around 4 or so. We plan to eat on the way up to the hotel and then we have to allow time for Claire to swim too. And of course I need to try and sleep.....like that is possible!
If I get a chance I'll get on and say good bye tomorrow, if not...I will see you all in just over a week!

Looks like you are pretty much ready. I am not sure how free your evenings are, but I would recommend if you have the time and it fits in with your plans, watch World of Color once in the park and once either from your balcony if you have the right view or from the observation deck at the Grand Californian. I actually prefer watching it from the hotel.

Thanks, I have 7 or 8 days to play with so hopefully I will catch all three versions.

Have a wonderful time! I hope you enjoy the park Walt built. :)

Thanks

I think we will see it once as a group, so maybe I can try to see if from a balcony too.

I am more worried about how smoothly things will go at home though. The main issue is getting Claire up for school. We were going to have Skip's mom do it, but he doesn't want he walking over in the morning and slipping and falling. So now we need to have Paige wake her up, but Claire and Paige are sisters and fight. I have already given Claire instructions...but I haven't broke the news to Paige yet.

Just came across your PTR and got caught up in one sitting! :rotfl:
Love all your planning details. I would love to go to DL, and have even looked into it, but that's a pretty long flight from SC!! And I would kinda be afraid for just me & DD to go by ourselves.
Hope you'll have a great trip and take tons of pics! Cant wait to hear all about it when you return!

I am sure they will be fine. Me and my sister were each other's worst enemies and were constantly fighting, but in situations like this we would rally together.

It's a pretty boring PTR! :lmao:

Yes the flight is really long. I am nervous about that part of it. I am not too worried about going that far though.
I will for sure take a lot of photos. I have 2 camera ready to go!

Paige doesn't always have patience, but she is going along with my instructions now at least. ;)

And since I know you are technically getting on your way today....... I'll give you the day 0 shot.

Don't hold it against her that she's so small. It will take some getting used to. But I'm sure you'll appreciate the beauty in her quaint charm. We do prefer the grandeur of Cinderella's digs over on the other coast. But park for park..... Disneyland is the place to be.

Have an awesome time and hurry back so we can hear all about it! :cool1:

One day until you will be at DISNEYLAND! :dance3:

I hear you are staying onsite. Is this the place?

Wooo hoo! Thanks
We are just about ready to head out now!!!

Happy late birthday:bday:

I have been off the Dis for about a week because it was moving so slow for me, I couldn't take it anymore.

I hope you have a great time in DL. I don't do face book so I will have to wait till you do a trip report.

Hey Jen, I didn't realize you had another trip in the works until I saw a post of Facebook that you were on your way. I've been very busy with school work and haven't been on the Dis much the past few months. I came on to find your TR, because I knew you just had to have one going. I'm caught up on the pre-trip stuff and I'm anxious to see all the pictures. I want to go to DL someday, so be sure to take lots of notes and report back on everything that would be of interest to a WDW vet who knows nothing about DL.

I missed your sendoff, so sorry. I hope you are having a great time.

The plans for WDW and the cruise sound great.
