Hi all,

I've just signed up to ask a couple of quite obvious questions. First of all, let me start by saying that I booked this trip six months ago when things were different...

I've always wanted to bring my daughter to Disneyland, she's almost five and I'd promised her I would. I used to work there when I was a student and have always wanted to go back. So I booked it, spending more than we could afford, justifying it by the fact that it'd be her last holiday as an only child (hoping). Anyway, now it's looking like all her holidays will be as an only child, so I've been a bit preoccupied with medical stuff over the last few months and haven't organised anything (apart from flights and accomodation).

Can anyone tell me what is the best way to get from Beauvais to Newport Bay Hotel? The private shuttles are working out a bit expensive and I don't know if we could make it on public transport.

I've seen that there is a Frozen show...she'll be over the moon. Is there anything else you'd particularly recommend for a five-year-old girl? I'm trying to remember and research the other stuff I loved when I worked there, but it's been over 15 years and I'm sure it's all different. I just want her to have a great holiday and I feel terrible about not having planned it better.

Any advice would be gratefully accepted.

D.

Bless you it sounds like you've had a lot on your plate recently.
There is the VEA DLP shuttle bus from Beauvais to DLP and back, if the times suit you -

when my daughter was 5 (her first trip to DLP) she loved the characters and the parades, and we both absolutely adore Dreams at park closing time. You can't go wrong with the Frozen stuff for this year, mostly taking place in Frontierland at the Chaparral theatre and around there. All the rides in Fantasyland, most of the rides in the Studios, Toy Story Playland, and of course the Ratatouille area, absolutely beautiful and the ride is fun. Stitch Live is loads of fun too, my daughter is 14 now and we still like going to watch that at DLP.

Ah thanks for your reply. That looks like the best option. She doesn't know Ratatouille yet so might have to make her watch the film tomorrow! Thanks for your help, I know we'll have a ball...just want to make it the best I can for her.

Have no tips for 5 year olds but I just wanted to wish both you a fab stay and a wonderful time together. I'm sure just being in the park and caught up in the magic will be amazing :goodvibes

Tips for a 5 year old - take plenty of dressing up outfits!! My DD wore a different one everyday and the CMs were constantly bowing and calling her a princess! She loved it! Lots of extra attention!
