Hi all,

Heading over to DLP on Sunday for 4 nights staying in the NBH, with my wife, daughter of 3.5 and Son age 1. I have booked a standard room with half board plus.
We have been to the park before before the kids were born, but never stayed for more then a day.

We should be arriving at the hotel about 1pm.

So what do folks recommend ?

1. When I get there ask for upgrade to a lakeview? Admiral? Suite?
If so how much do the upgrades normally cost?

2. If we go into a premium restuarant with the HB plus, can we just pay he extra.

3. Is wifi available in the hotel?

4. From peoples experience is it likely to be busy 12th - 16th of Oct.

Just noticed btw the Its a small world is closed that week. My wife will be so disappointed.

We have also booked the VEA from CDG, how long does it normally take, has peoples experience of VEA been positive.

Apologies for all the questions, but looking forward to your responses.

Regards

Gavin

Hi Gavin . Elaine, Jackie, Elaine and Reid welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:

We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

There is a link in The Very Useful Info sticky at the top of the board regarding wi-fi :)

Regarding upgrading it will depend on availability. If you are keen to do this then probably better to phone beforehand.

Thanks Reid, I have tried, but can't seem to get through on the phone :(

Hi Gavin,

We'll be there at the same time - Sat next to Wed 15th. Can't wait. :woohoo:

Can't answer most of your questions but regarding Its a Small World, are you sure that's closed? On this week's calendar here it says Casey Jr and Le Pays des Contes de Fées are closed til the 17th October but it doesn't mention Its A Small World.

As for the crowds, I know most of the Disney hotels are booked out so I'm expecting big crowds. Get to the parks early!!

Have a great time.

Hi Deb,

Opps i thought Le Pays des Contes de Fées, was its a small world. My wife will be happy.:yay: Have you stayed in this hotel before?

Regards

Gav

So did I until recently. :lmao:

Oh no we're not staying in the hotel. When I say we'll be there at the same time, I meant in Disneyland Paris. We are a family of 5 so we're staying offsite a few miles away, otherwise we'd need 2 rooms.

See you there. I guess you'll be the guy with the wife alongside him humming 'it's a small world after all' all day. ;)

We leave on Sunday too. Shall we all wear red roses? :goodvibes

I can't answer many of your questions. I was there a similar time last year and the park wasn't manic. The queues were all fairly short (except Crushes Coaster & Cars in the Studios) and was easy to get a good stop for the parade/shows. It's A Small World, Phantom Manor and Pirates were mainly walk ons or only had to queue for 5-10 mins. Big Thunder Mountain often had long waits so run there first if you can or use fast pass. Am hoping it'll be the same this year!

Isn't one of the Mickey's Halloween parties on during that time (14th rings a bell?) if so I think it will be very busy then tbh....?

Re the VEA, not being funny but will it cost much for all of you? I ask because with two kids it might be better to do a private transfer if it won't cost much more (and you have a budget for it). We went last week and OK we had 4 adults and two littlies but at 80 euros each way it was just so easy and as someone pointed out, wouldn't have cost much less for the VEA (as I believe you pay for children if I'm right??).... Just a thought... Someone else might know more than me though as I'm a novice :rotfl:

Enjoy :) :thumbsup2

The Halloween parties are on Friday - 10th, 17th, 24th and I think the 28th too.

The Dis sign is to wear something lime green on your person - like a ribbon/key ring or if you are really artistic make some sort of tag and if you spot a fellow Diser - stop and say hello :thumbsup2

I can't do lime green but might be hauling about a rather lurid yellow Chip n Dale bag, that'll have to be close enough lol

Hope you all have a great time - I wont be far behind :thumbsup2

Oh you may be OK with the dates then although it might be busy for the upcoming 17th party? I hope you have a great time! I've posted a few halloween pics tonight on another thread - the decs are amazing :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the replies.

I booked the VEA and it was 98euro for the 4 of us return. I thought that was pretty good. BTW my daughter rarely gets to go on a bus, so the fact that she will be on one with disney all over it will be part of the adventure.
On another note, the long term forcast for the area looks promising.

Has anybody upgraded to the Admiral floor in NBH and considered it worth it?

Also what is the cost of the fast pass, and do you need one for the whole family?

Regards

Gav

Fastpasses are free. The bigger rides offer fastpass - Big Thunder Mountain,Peter Pan, Indiana Jones, Buzz Lightyear, Tower of Terror,Space Mountain ,Rock nRollercaster (I am sure I have missed one).

To get a fastpass for the ride - go to the ride and put your park ticket into the fastpass machine and it will give you a ticket with a return time. You can then return to the ride at that time and join the much faster fastpass line.

Just rang reservations and upgraded to the Admiral Floor Lakeview. And upgraded my HB plus to HB premium.

It was pricey enough, my question is was i silly?

I can't say either way on the hotel upgrade :confused3

The HB upgrade - it depends on where you are going to eat. If you eat mainly in places which were included in the HB plus, then yes, the upgrade was a little unnecessary as it would have been cheaper to use HB plus for the restaurants included on that plan, then just pay the difference in the expensive restaurant (inventions, california grill etc...).

On the other hand, if you end up eating mainly in the expensive places, then I think the upgrade was quite sensible.
