WHEN I BOOKED OUR DVC, SHOULD I HAVE TOLD THEM IT WAS FOR OUR ANNIV?? OR DO THEY ONLY DO SPECIAL THINGS WHEN YOU STAY AT ONE OF THE HOTELS?? I JUST READ THAT A WOMENS DAUGHTER REVEIVED THINGS IN HER ROOM FOR THEIR HONEYMOON.. JUST WONDERING IF I SHOULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING????

You could always mention it a check-in. Disney resorts have been known to spring little surprises on people, although not as consistently as in the past. Seems people started hearing about the nice things that Disney would do, and decided to fabricate their own "special occasions".

Shocking, eh?

From what I've read, they seem to do nice little things for childrens' birthdays (cards, balloons, signed character photos), and also for obvious honeymooners. Don't know how consistent they are in helping people celebrate an anniversary.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to mention it. But please don't let it ruin your trip if you don't get any surprises.

I agree that it doesn't hurt to mention it but don't expect anything. I've had a 25th anniversary and a 50th anniversary mentioned to DVC resorts and received no acknowledgement.

I doubt it. Years ago, they used to do something for your anniversary but people started to abuse the situation and it has stopped. I would not bother to say anything.

Depending on your timing, who you talk to, and where you are staying sometimes Disney will suprise you...

We usually travel down to WDW for our anniversery, and have been suprised a few times.....

While at VB, eating at Sonya's, the CM's suprised us with a small cake for two...

I mentioned our 10 year anniversary to MS when making a ressie and when the confirmation letter came it was on the letter.

I have heard not to except anything, but sometimes people do get surprised! I don't know if this is just at the non DVC resorts or both.

I was hoping we might could get that Illuminations view at BCV... But, I won't hold my breath.

We're also planning on doing the rehitching at Garden Grill. I've also heard different reviews on this. Some say they were great, others say they were blown of like they were a hassle.

My attitude is it won't hurt to mention it, but I'm not going to expect anything. If we get a surprise at any of our PSs then all the more magical.

We celebrated our 25th at the Polynesian in 2002 and they had a nice certificate and red rose in a bud vase in our room when we got back from the first day in the parks. Plus when we were on our cruise, they brought us a cake one night.

We had mentioned the occasion when we booked and when we got to the hotel and cruise.

I would say tell them every chance you get ;-) and see what happens!

The Disney Magic is still alive!!!

I did receive an upgrade, balloons, a gift, and a card when we stayed at the Contemporary for our 10th anniversary.
My daughter didn't recieve anything when we stayed at the BWV over her 3rd birthday. (same trip)
I would feel uncomfortable telling the hotel staff we were celebrating a special occasion, it would feel like we were asking for something, that's just me.
The only reason we received what we did for our anniversary is because the man at CRO taking our ressie was very friendly, talkative, asked me if we were celebrating any special occasion, or if we were down there just for vacation, etc etc etc. I never gave it another thought and was SHOCKED that we recieved anything. Pleased, but shocked.
On the flip side, my daughter not recieving anything for her bday didn't bother me at all.
