This is my first time doing a 7 day Disney cruise, I could really use your help. I only did one other cruise and that was the 3 day Disney,I have so many questions.
First can I order a appetizer off of the children's menu ,like chicken fingers or something? What is on the children's menu. We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary so we won't have our kids with us.
Do they do anything special on the night of our anniversary for us?
Can someone give me an idea of our dinning reservations. I hear one night will be at Parrots Cove, Something about a captain dinner. Any information you can give me on this subject will be greatly appreciated.
Do you know how much unlimited Internet access is? This will help keep in touch at home. Can I use AIM?
How much is a refillable soda cup?
I have so many questions. Any advice you can give me would be great. Thanks Brenda, I can't wait!!!!!!!!!:wave2:

Hi Brenda....my husband and I just sailed on the Magic without our kids last month, on the 2/7/04 cruise. We did the Eastern itinerary.

First, let DCL know that you will be celebrating your anniversary. You do not have to be celebrating the exact date so don't worry about that. They brought us out a lovely cake with a Happy Anniversary logo on it and all the waiters sang to us. I have a picture link of the cake below.

I believe the refillable soda mug is $35.00. Unless you really are into soda all day long, I would say forget it. There is unlimted soda at all the sit down dining rooms and iced tea, lemonade, water, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, milk at the beverage station up on Deck 9.

You can order whatever you want off the children's menu but since you are not travelling with your kids you will have to ask for a children's menu. You can order as many appetizers, entrees, desserts that you please from any menu (kid or adult). There will be a formal night and a semi formal night as well as a tropical night on the 7 day. The Captain holds a reception in the atrium one of the nights and a Captains gala menu one night.

Unlimited interenet access onboard is $89 and I believe you can use AIM.

My best advice would be to just keep reading these boards and gain as much info as can. Ask any questions that you have and just don't stress....you will never be able to do everything you want on board (we have sailed DCL 10 times and still have not done everything) so just go with the flow!!!!

Have fun with your planning. Please feel free to check out our pics from our recent cruise. It was quite a difference experience cruising without the kids!!

Welcome to the Dis Brenda!

We just got off the 2/21 Eastern(our 2nd DCL Eastern) Saturday so ask as many questions as you would like.

As far as dinner, you rotate between 3 resteraunts:Parrot Cay, Lumiere's and Animators Palate. Your wait staff follows you from resteraunt to resteraunt.

I'm sure you can order anything off the kids menu you wish but I think you will find something you like on every menu. There are different themed dinners during the rotations and they will have special menus. Check out castawayclub.com for menus.

For something special I would recommend dinner at Palo. You do need a reservation for this which you can make the day you board ship. Tell your server and I'm sure they will do something nice.

Welcome again and good luck planning. This board is awesome and also check the cruise meets section to see if a thread has started for your cruise. Here you can "meet" people who you will be cruising with.

I loved all the photos. I had to show my husband them too. We are not doing any excursions but would like to go exploring on our own. Any ideas? I want to do some shopping and would like to go to a near by public beach. Can you help with this? Where are they, the name of the places and easiest way to get there. Thanks. Brenda

Brenda, here's a link to Your Oher Thread with the same questions. It's good to have because you will get different responses to the same questions:D

Beaches-St. Maarten-Great Bay Beach:$5 water taxi to get there and is right in front of shopping streets. You also look over the bay where you are docked.

St. Thomas-Megans Bay:grab taxi when you get off and they take you over to the other side of the island. I think its around $8 per person each way. Calm water, rentals, facilities, etc. True paradise.
