Wow can't believe all this waiting and its almost here! We are staying for 8 nights at GCV or VGC ?? Lol..anyway so far no dinning plans except perhaps Storytellers for first day as we get in pretty early but don't plan to visit the parks that day (we are getting 6day park passes). Dd's are 14 and 8 and they too are DW veterans but first real time at DL. Any suggestions of where we will for sure need advanced dinning plans? Don't have a clue what to expect there in March (or any,time...lol). I am starting to really jump into these DL boards as its getting closer and would appeciate any info!

What dates are you going? The first two weeks in March will be quiet, but the last two weeks not so much due to lots and lots of schools being off for break. If you are going during the busy times, make ressies now! If you are going during the slower times you don't necessarily need ressies, but I always like to make them just so I can get the days and times I want for sure!

I would definitley make ressies for that time period!

All of the sit down places take ressies. Where were you planning on eating? You can make them 60 days out so now would be a good time!

Place we always make ressies for are Carnation Cafe for breakfast and lunch or dinner. Breakfast with Minnie and friends. We also always have lunch at Cafe Orleans, and the last day we are there we do Breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen.

What kind of food do you guys like? Do you want to do a character meal? There are so many places and on here you will get so many opinions on what is good and what is not. But I will help you if I can!

Blue Bayou has great food and you get to watch the Pirates ride go by. One of my personal favorites. A reservation there is definitely helpful, they fill up fast! If you want the Monte Cristo sandwich, my personal favorite, you need to reserve a lunch time not dinner. You can also get the Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans too.

Steakhouse 55, Goofy's Kitchen, and Rainforest Cafe are also fun and good places to eat where reservations definitely help!

well.. i suggest that you make reservations and tell your daughters how beautiful and wonderful they are.. just a suggestion.. hope this helps!! ;) <3 u mom!!

For Blue Bayou, make a lunch reservation for 11:30 am (the time they open), check in a few minutes early (11:15 to 11:25) and let them know you'd like a waterside table (front row, as close as it gets to the POTC boats) and you'll get it. There are 12 waterside tables, and Bayou currently only takes 11 11:30 reservations (could change).

My daughter (13) and I have a tradition of eating at Napa Rose atleast once per trip. It is very spendy but we don't do things like it very often so we splurge and eat here, she was able to get the petite filet off the child's menu last year (12) and we even told them she was 12 but this year I imagine it won't be possible.http://disneyland.disney.go.com/grand-californian-hotel/napa-rose/ not as fancy as you think, I have gone in capri's, nice shirt and wedges while my daughter wore jeans and a nice blouse. They are great there in my opinion.

We also love to eat at Naples in downtown Disney, we get an outside seat by a heater, order a salad and a antipasta plate that includes meats, cheeses, olives, nuts and grapes for only 10.50 and it is enough for more than 2 people.http://disneyland.disney.go.com/downtown-disney/naples-ristorante-e-pizzeria/

Blue Bayou is nice, but my daughter chooses Napa over it every time, but if we do 2 nice places then she will pick this one too.

Character meals - I would do Minnie and Friends inside the park (1 hour before opening) if I was doing breakfast or I would do Goofy's Kitchen for dinner. I haven't heard a lot of good about Storytellers as far as a character meal goes.

One last place, especially if you are a steak eater is Steak house 55 - they are very good but remember you can and should share sides, we learned the hard way and my daughter and I both ordered them and had way way to much food for us. They are located right behind Goofy's kitchen in the same bldg. I have also heard they have an excellent breakfast, which runs about 10-12 per person but very nice..... Good Luck - let us know what you choose and what you thought.....;)

I would say for sure Carnation Cafe. Probably everyone can find something they will enjoy on the menu, and it's right on main street so the ambience can't be beat.

I think Blue Bayou sounds neat, but the food doesn't appear to me personally and the prices are a bit more than I'd like to spend for food that doesn't really sound that great!

There are restaurant menus available online (with prices) so you can see which restaurants appeal to you :) http://allears.net/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm

Cafe Orleans is the only one we make Reservations for these days. Once in awhile Blue Bayou. Napa Rose is delicious, but still overpriced IMHO (yes, everything at Disney is overpriced, but Napa Rose even more so). And reservations are not as important at DLR as at WDW, you can still walk up and get tables, you'll just have to wait a bit if you don't have one (unless you have a very large party). =)

Oh sweet! Thanks for the inside tip...lookin over all the different menus this weekend and hope to call Disney dining soon...I see u can do wdw dining online but not DL? anyway with all this Indiana snow this is the perfect weekend to get lost on these boards!

At DL, we enjoy Cafe Orleans. At DCA, we like Ariel's Grotto (they have a World of Color package). In DTD, we like Naples (for the pizza, not so much for the pasta). In the resorts, we like Storyteller's for breakfast, and Steakhouse 55 and Napa Rose for dinner.

Enjoy your time at the Disneyland Resort! Dining is not as big of a priority here as it is in WDW, but if you know when and where you want to eat for table service locations, it's always better to make a reservation.

We made reservations for Cafe Orleans, Carnation Cafe, Storytellers (breakfast), Minnie's breakfast and House of Blues (getting a $25 gc from restaurant.com for $2).

All of our other meals will probably be counter service (which is way better than CS in WDW) unless we can luck into a table. Oh and one lunch that's included in the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour.

DL is more relaxing than WDW so we are just going to wing it for the most part.

What day you doing the Walk in Walt's tour? We are trying to decide whether or not to do this. Youngest daughter is almost 9 and huge Disney fan but wondering if it she would stay interested in it for 3 hours. Not even sure how booked something like that gets and if we would even get a spot. Dh and I would love to do this though!

If we can work it out, I want to do it Monday morning.
