Disney has a GREAT hurricane reschedule policy. Go to ALL Ears, sign up for the newsletter, and search about 3 newsletters back; it has all the details. There might be someone here who knows the specifics maybe, as I'm sure its somewhere else too.
Please dont quote me on this but I remembered it to be that if there was a hurricane and you were ready to leave they would rescheule free of charge, but you WOULD lose Mickeys Not so Scary Halloween or other shows you purchased separately.
One of my BEST vacation memories was on a trip BACK DURING a hurricane. When we left WDW that morning at 9:00 AM, everyone along our route home was boarding up the stores. While I'm sure it wasnt fun for them, it was really cool. (Boy I sound like a tourist!!!) we bought some produce and such and the kids got to watch them board up the windows with plywood. The entire week PRIOR to the hurricane was AWESOME!!! weather in Sept was PERFECT! Cool breeze all week and lots of sky watching seeing the hurriucane clouds roll in. When we got home that evening we saw on the news that Disney World had closed down completely!
Now, if I tell you NOT to buy insurance, and something happens, you'll blame me, so i'll tell ya its the SAFE thing to do, but I wont buy it. JMHO
