We will be making our first trip to WDW the first week of October. I have seen where the weather is still pretty decent (low 80s). Are thw waterparks still open during this time or is it too cold at that point?

We are trying to figure out the ticket scenarios.

My wife and I will be traveling with out 3 children - 10,8,5. Assuming the water parks will be open, how are the ages for what is available?

Thanks

We went at the end of September and it was HOT! Yes the waterparks should be open and it is a great time to go because you shouldn't have huge lines ! :sunny:

It is still pretty warm in October. If I recall correctly I think it was in the upper 80's the last time we were there in the fall. I also think that some of the water attraction are heated (the water) someone can correct me if I am wrong.

October should be fine. It is normally in the 80s during the day. The water at the Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon is heated. One of the water parks is ususally closed in the fall for refurb and the other in Jan/Feb.

Global warming seemed evident last Oct - first week, was HOT, HOT HUMID... we didnt do the waterparks, but I seem to remember they take one down for maintenance sometime fall or winter??

We went the first week of October 2004, and we spent one afternoon at Blizzard Beach. The weather was perfect! It was our first time to a water park. Our kids (then 6 & 3) LOVED it! We wished we hadn't waited until the afternoon of our last day to go! The kids wanted to stay longer.

We've gone twice in early to mid November (2003 & 2005) and have gone to Typhoon Lagoon both times (Blizzard Beach was down for its annual maintenance). In both cases we waited to arrival and checked the weather forcast and went on the warmest day (in the mid-80's both times). However, of the 14 days of the two trips combined probably ten of the days would have been acceptable.

If you are going in October you should be fine.

(Please keep in mind we are from Maine so mid-80's is a typical July day for us!)
