Going in mid-August, is it too late for ADR's?

My daughter and I are going to go in mid-August for a week and we have not made our diniing decisions yet. Do you think we can still get ADR's. Thinking of trying the following new places, any reviews or comments on them. Also my daughter has peanut/tree nut allergies.

Plaza Restaurant
Crystal Plaza
Coral Reef
The Wave
Brown Derby or Mama Melrose

Thanks.

All you can do is try. Just try to be flexible as far as times and days go. Do you know which day you'll be at each park? Try for your MK and DHS ADRs on the days you plan to be in the park, but if they're really important to you, then perhaps try switching your days around.

It is quite late, so if some of them are totally unavailable, then just try for alternates. As I said, flexibility is key. Good luck.

I gave seen these still available for Oct. Are you able to go online and check?I don't find that calling is any better than making reservations online.

I think you should be able to eat at most of those places, especially if you're flexible about the time of your meal. I'm going at the end of August and just started making ADRs a couple weeks ago. The only places I couldn't book were the really popular restaurants like Ohana and Chef Mickey's.

Of the places on your list I've been to:

Crystal Palace - I've been for both breakfast and dinner, and feel that this is definitely one of the better character buffets. The characters circulate pretty efficiently (you'll get great picks without having to wait forever) and I think the food is pretty good. Going again for lunch this trip

Coral Reef - I've read some pretty mixed reviews about this place, but my experience was great. We ate around 2, so we didn't have to wait to be seated and the food came out pretty quickly (many complaints I see have to do with slow service, so I think making an ADR at a non-peak time will make for a more enjoyable experience). The server was friendly, the food was good, and of course it was nice to watch the fish! It was definitely enjoyable and I would go back again.

Mama Melrose - Eh. I really want to like this place, lol. I've been twice, and both times I felt the food was pretty mediocre. Not terrible by any means, but just not really worth the money or the time. The service has always been very good and some things on their menu are definitely better than others. Perhaps I'm just ordering the wrong things. I probably wouldn't be back, unless I was able to make an ADR for the Fantasmic dinner package.

I haven't been to the Wave, but I'd really like to try it, as I've read some good reviews.

Well I just got all kinds of character meals for several weeks from now, so you should be ok. By the way, it's Crystal Palace (not Plaza). One of them was Crystal Palace too.

Disney's online system has been under maintenance the past few days, so be patient, as there have been a ton of glitches.

Good luck, Tiger

I just went to the online reservation site and put in August 15th for 2 people.

The Plaza-lunch and dinner times available
Crystal Palace-breakfast and lunch times available
Coral Reef-lunch and dinner times available
The Wave-lunch and dinner timaes available
Brown Derby-lunch and dinner
Mama Melrose-lunch and dinner

I only did August 15th so there was less for me to change and I don't know when you are going exactly, but in 5 minutes I was able to find times for all of the restaurants you chose. If I were you I would go in and play around with the reservation site so you know if it will fit your plans or not. But if it is just the 2 of you I am guessing you would be able to fit in a lot of places.

Good luck!

Go to the WDW website and click where to eat. Then select the date, time and party size and then search for a table. That will give you an idea of what’s still available. I hope this helps. I was able to get ADR for the second week in Aug just a few days ago. Cheers!

I bet it'll be fine as long as you're somewhat flexible in the time. I reserved things only a week-3 weeks (for 2 mini trips in July) in advance and was able to get everything I wanted as long as long as I was somewhat flexible. Instead of dining at 6, I might have to dine at 5 or 8.

The only one I think you *might* have a problem with is Coral Reef. However, I've had success with eating there right when it opens (11) without reservations.

August is strange this year. I don't think you will ahve much trouble finding reservations if you are willing to check severak times a day. We moved our trip by a week and still manage to get everything. The only thing we lost and can't get back is the F! package. All the other reservations have been rebooked within a few mintues of the original one we had including Ohana, Cali Grill, CRT, CP before rope drop and Le Cellier for a party of 8

Everyone, thanks for your help. I sent my request to my travel agent, but he has not gotten back to me. I think I will do this myself.

Again, thanks for the feedback. Also, thanks for letting me know its Crystal Palace. I was getting that name mixed up with the Plaza.

Can't wait to get to Disney.

Again, thanks.

I just made an august crystal palace adr this week for breakfast. About every day was avail.

I had 6 weeks to plan my reservations for next week's trip and I got everything I wanted at the times I wanted. Check back several times a day to see if anything opens up.
