Going in April

Well, we decided it was finally time to make the trip to Orlando. We traded our Marriott timeshare and are staying at the Marriott Cypress Harbour from Apr 11-16. It's my husband, myself and our 4 children, ages 14, 11, 9 and 6. Our 14 yo dd is trying to talk us into letting her invite a friend. We got great airfare from Orange County, CA-Orlando for $250rt. Because we live 20 miles from Disneyland and have annual passes, we're going to skip MK, but want to go to Epcot. I just bought the $99 Buy 2, Get 3 more Pass to US/IOA. We're trying to decide between Sea World (but we only live an hour from San Diego) or Animal Kingdom. The kids are HUGE Nick/Superhero fans, so I think we'll pass on Disney/MGM, too.

I've been reading trip reports and am getting excited!

Plan for at 3 days at Universal. One day at each park and then the third day to park hop on your favorite rides.

Sea World is great, but it doesn't sound like you need to do that. Also a day at the ocean is probably not as big a deal to you as us poor sobs in cold weather land.

Two thoughts I would have for you to do are Busch Gardens in Tampa as well as visit Cape Canaveral.

Thanks for the tips...we arrive around 4pm Monday, so we'll have Tue-Fri full days and our flight leaves at 6pm Saturday. Maybe what we'll plan on is the 2 days at US/IOA, a day at Epcot, a day yet unplanned, then head back to US or IOA on Saturday since we will have until around 3-4 to play. You're right about the beach, we usually go to Hawaii on vacation, and only live 15 miles away from Laguna Beach, Newport Beach and San Clemente, so the beaches are not the novelty they are to you land locked people ;-) I hadn't thought of Cape Canaveral or Busch Gardens.
