Hello!

We were planning on going to WDW the last week of Ocober this year. Yesterday I tried to book at VWL and the Beach Club and both are full! Is this a busy time of year or is it just busy for DVC? :confused3 I think I read somewhere that DVC crowds don't corelate with non-DVC. Our home resort is SSR and we wanted to try a different one. My next stop will probably be OKW -it's bigger, right? Then SSR. But not if the parks will be mobbed - DH wouldn't survive. ;)

Parks wont be bad, but this is a very busy time with DVC because of the food and wine festival. I would suggest going in a wait list if you really want one of those resorts. BCV and BWV will be hard to get then, because they are easy access to all the F&W festival action. VWL is always a tough ticket after the 7 month window because it is the smallest DVC. Your easiest places to get for that time would be OKW or SSR because they are larger. You don't say what size unit you are looking for. If you are trying for a studio, try asking for a 1 bedroom and see if you have more luck.

October is one of the more popular times for DVC members to visit. Both the Food & Wine festival and MNSSHP contribute to the popularity as do the lower point requirments. Try the waitlist - there's time for it to work it magic.

I don't think the parks will be "mobbed", but I do think it will be fairly busy compared to previous years during the same time period. Attendance for all seasons seems to be trending up.

Best wishes -

Probably the Food & Wine Festival plus the the Halloween festivities. OKW should have some room, it's bigger. If not, you can probably get in at SSR. I know you wanted a change, but you have many more years for that, right?

As far as crowds, last time we went at F&W time (and the hotels were full - we have learned to get that ressie very early). Epcot was only what I would call "cheerfully busy". I don't like it when it's dead empty - seems kind of sad & lonesome without some people milling about. Our friends who went over to MK for a day said that was quite busy.

We were there last October during the 3rd week. Parks were fine.

Thanks for all the info! And yes we do have plenty of years to try different resorts. :goodvibes One of the great things about being a member!! :teeth: I didn't realize the Food and Wine Festival was then, does anyone have the dates for it? Maybe we can try to move our dates up. I'm dying to go to MNSSHP though! Oh, and I was requesting a studio, I hadn't thought of requesting a different room. Thanks for the tip!

I made ressies for VWL - 1 bdrm for Oct. 19 - 24 right at the 7 month mark. That weekend there is also the FUNAI Golf Tournament. A really big deal for golfers (and their spouses). We got what we wanted at our favorite resort! Was so happy.
If you can be flexible with your dates, you might have better luck. And now would be the time to call.

Oh I'll bet that has a lot to do with it to...I was trying to get a 10/23 (Sunday) check-in. I'll try for Monday or Tuesday, mabye that will help. Thanks! Of course DH would LOVE to see some of the golf... :)

F&W starts Sept 30th and goes until Mid November.

MNSSHP will keep the parks busy the last week in October. In runs all month, but the last week is most popular.

Watch for Jersey week (dates unknown) and if you go the second weekend in October, wear your Twins cap - that's the Minnesota fall break.

I don't know about any Minnesota Twins schedule, but I would surely envy your husband getting to attend the Funai Classic. :cool1: Make it possible if you can and he will be at your beckon and call!!! I promise!!!! :cheer2:

Thanks for the info on the October activities - that's great to have!! :earsgirl:

Silly question, but do you know how I can get tickets to the Funai?
