I am renting points for a trip in May. For unforseen reasons, it looks like I may need to extend my trip for 1 day... oh darn!

I have emailed the person that I am renting from to see if he can add a day, but I am aware that there are several things that may not allow this to happen (his points, no availability...), so I checked the Disney website and I can make a reservation for the same type of room. I know that it will be a lot more money, but since it is just my son and I and we will only be doing things in the MK area, I would like to continue my stay at VWL.

So my question is, will there be anyway to request that I stay in the same room at check in? Will this be impossible since the first 7 days are on points and the last night on cash?

TIA!

I might be wrong on this but... I believe this is 2 separate reservations in 2 different inventories. It will probably be 2 rooms. You will have to check-out by 11 and check back in at check-in time. I.e. homeless during the day. Although, you can check your bags at bell services.

If your cash reservation is in the exact same room type, you can request not to move at checkin and the resort will try to honor that request.

There are some room types NOT readily available for cash reservations (BW view villas and BCV 2BR villas with 2 queens) so, if your point reservation is one of those types, you may be out-of-luck.

You will, most likely, still need to check-in a second time and get a new room key, but you may be able to keep the same room and not need to move. I would also have the CRO reservation add the request (give them the DVC reservation number to note on the reservation) and I'd also ask the member to make the same request on the DVC reservation - in addition to making the request at check-in.

Good luck! :)
