A friend of my wife is planning to visit the US in October and she and her daughter will be arriving via Miami Airport.

Any recommendations of which transport company would be appropriate? I suppose that she will need some kind of shuttle that makes stops at the most popular Kissimmee hotels and can be paid in advance thru a web site.

Of course, she would need the Kissimmee-Orlando route, also.

Thanks for your help,

Luis

The best option would be to rent a car.

If that is not possible, I think you will probably have to hire a private car service / cab that works out of the Miami airport (or is permitted to work the airport is what I mean) due to the vast distance you are talking about (that is close to 200 miles/313 km, or a 3 hour drive not counting traffic). I would probably start by looking @ the Miami airport website and their list of approved transportation companies.

There are a number of independent bus operators that run a Miami to Orlando bus, some offering transfers to local hotels.

Google "miami to orlando bus". Sorry, I don't have any specific recommendations.

Fares seem to range between $25 & $50.

Yes there are some companies that have buses or even smaller vans that do the Miami to Orlando trip, just google it.

Amtrak has twice daily service from Miami to Orlando. Or at least, they did a few months ago when I was there. Since the train starts in Miami it's got a lower chance of being delayed. I enjoyed the trip, and it's less than 40 bucks. Not as fast as driving, but you're not all cooped up.

Thanks to all for your answers. I agree that renting a car is a better option and in fact, is what I do when arrive to Miami.

Amtrak sounds interesting, but it has the drawback that is outside the airport.

My wife explained to me that the problem is that her friend isn't very comfortable driving by herself, so she would prefer a bus or a shuttle service. I'll google a little more and give her my findings.

Thanks again,

Luis

Has your friend considered flying to Orlando Airport from Miami Airport? I know it is only a 3 hour drive, but it is a 40 minute flight, and considering they will already be at the airport, it might be easier. Both Delta and American fly nonstop multiple times per day.
