Hey everyone,

My wife and I (no children) are going down to spend two days at Universal and IoA on February 13 and 14. The hotel we are staying has the early admission feature, but does not include the express line passes. Are these worth it? We are regulars at Disney and can not imagine navigating the parks without fast pass, but I am having a difficult time justifying spending the extra $50/person.

With the early admission, will we be able to give the parks the time they need?

This time of year seems like it would be a good time for crowd levels because it is right before most spring breaks, but I noted that the Mardi Gras festivities begin on Feb 12. Will this drastically effect crowd levels?

All opinions are welcome, and any other advice for first timers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You would only need EPs for very busy periods...I doubt you would need them when you're here. In any event...wait until you arrive to check out the lines before purchasing. Early admission will help with HP so once you've done that part, you will already have a head start on the other attractions.

Mardi Gras is held at the Studios so the IOA crowd will not be affected. The Studios will get busy towards the afternoon and depending on who's performing that night, it can get mobbed. Frankie Valli is there that night but I would still expect a large crowd for the concert.

Where would you be staying that is giving you early admission and not express pass? Normally EA is reserved for on property guests and if you are on property then Express Pass included on your room key.

As far as lines, those days are mighty close to winter break so the chances are good that at least Monday will be busy. Sundays have been hit and miss some have been busy but others not so much.

Be prepared for busy and you willb e pleasantly surprised if they are not!

Sounds like they are staying at a "partner" hotel that does not include unlimited Express but does offer the HP early entry.
