Going during the 2nd and 3rd week of November?

After reading lots of posts of this board and many other forums and websites, I think I'll be planning for the 2nd and the 3rd week of November '05 (leaving on the 6th and returning on the 20th or the 21st of November '05)

My considerations are:

1. Not too crowded
2. If it is, at least the park won't be too crowded with younger kids
3. Weather relatively predictable (warm all the time)

Am I right? or wrong? Is there a better time for me to go? Just like I've posted several months ago, being there in December or September is an impossibility (unless somebody can really convince me to go in September)

I'm going for a short trip with my oldest - second weekend, I think. I've been the first week before - it was nice weather, only hot one day and even that wasn't bad, crowds were light. I'm hopping for the same, but there are some events around that time - Super Soap Weekend (I think the 12, 13) will keep MGM packed with people.

November is a great time of year to go! The weather is perfect. (IMO, September is still too hot.)

How about the 1st week of November just after Halloween? Will the parks still be crowded from post Halloween? Also during Super Soap weekend, if I don't go to MGM, will other parks be more crowded too?

I read this post and just had to reply. We went from Nov 12th through the 20th and it was THE BEST. The best weather (one 5 minute spell of rain the entire trip) the best crowds (little to no wait...except MK, but we still used fp's and saw everything we wanted to see) and the entire trip was amazing. When we return we will go in November again for sure. :cool1:

We went to Disney the third week of November in 2002 and it was awesome. No crowds and we couldn't have asked for better weather.

The weather is nice then, but watch out for Jersey Week -- somewhere around 2nd week of Nov. this year, I think. Very, very crowded. We gave up on the parks last year and just focused on the special F&W Festival events. Once F&W Festival, Super Soap Weekend and Jersey Week are over, I understand crowds decline considerably.

There are too many conflicting info. Some say SuperSoap will the the 2nd weekend but at the same time that weekend will be Jersey Week. So which ione is right?

Besdies, after Jersey Week and SuperSoap Weekend, wouldn't that be Thanksgiving?

Most importantly, nobody have yet asnwered my previous question:
"Also during Super Soap weekend, if I don't go to MGM, will other parks be more crowded too?"

Jersey Week is Nov.7-11. Super Soap Weekend is Nov.11-13. I have been during Jersey Week and only saw crowds in the afternoon at MK as I was leaving. The Super Soap Weekend is just at MGM so the other parks should be fine. HTH! We plan on going Nov.5-Nov.12. Enjoy your trip!

The other parks won't be crowded during S&S weekend. But they will be crowded because of "Jersey week", and Epcot will be crowded because of the F&W festival. Not like summer crowds, but more crowded than the week just before Thanksgiving.

Here are this years dates:
"Jersey week" woud be the week of the 6th(the NJ teachers conferences are on the 11th-12th.) So the 6th-13th would be the time you will see an increase of crowds for Nov.
Vet's Day is the 11th
S&S weekend is the 12th&13th
The F&W Festival ends on the 13th(so that last weekend of it could get pretty crowded at Epcot)

Please keep in mind that what is considered crowded to some, may be OK for others. Therefore you will hear some say "Jersey week" was crowded, while others say, it's not bad at all. Also S&S weekend may make MGM crowded, but that doesn't mean the attractions will have lines. Most people will be there viewing their favorite soap stars, not going on rides. One other thing, during F&W festival, the crowds are there but are managable because Epcot is very big and spread out. It handles crowds much better than MK. Let's face it, MK is almost always crowded, more so than the other parks, no matter when you go!

We love going in Nov. and make sure we arrive the week before Thanksgiving, but right after all the above times. This year we arrive on the 13th(we won't go to any parks until the 15th)and we leave on the 20th, avoiding those Thanksgiving crowds. We love going at this time because the weather is perfect and we really hate crowds, so this is a perfect match for us!

Desnik- we are going to be there the same time as you will be! I have a question for you, that I am hoping you can answer though. Right now, my plans include going to the MK on Friday Nov. 18. This happens to be the EMH (evening) day as well. I know that traditionally it's not good to go to any park on the day that there are EMH's. However, I was thinking it wouldn't be all that crowded because of the time of the year. What has been your experience?? Do you think it will be so crowded that you'd have to be waiting in line for 30 minutes or more?

Hmmm, it's getting more confusing. It seems like I can only arrive on the 14th and stay there through the 20th. Thanksgiving is the 24th, right? So I take it that starting the 21st the park will be crazy busy again. Am I right with my assumption?

How about if I add several days (during SS weekend and JW) to go to Universal? Will they be crazy too due to Disney's SS and JW?

I think you will be fine on that Fri. However, I am going to avoid the parks on that weekend. From past experience, Sat. are always so crowded at the MK. Also that weekend the Thanksgiving crowds start coming in. Ususlly on that Fri. we are checking out of our villa and checking into a resort, last year was the WL, for relaxing on the weekend. We always run into alot of people checking in/out, but when we went into a park, it wasn't too bad. I would also say go to EMH on that Fri. if you can. You can get so much done. We usually only do 1 EMH b/c DH likes to sleep!! We otherwise get to the parks around 10am. We never avoid a park b/c it had EMH during this week in Nov. Also, just to let you know, we always see lines of about 20min or less for the Pooh ride, and Peter Pan. Usually everything else are walk ons or 5-10min waits. It's pure heaven!!!

Yep! You are right to assume that by the 21st the parks will be crowded again. I don't think US will be crowded b/c of S&S weekend, but JW could also affect US. I would ask over on that board. I know all of this can get a bit frustrating when trying to plan, but like everyone says a day at Disney(whether crowded or not)is better than any day at home/work!!!

Are you talking about Friday Nov 25th or Friday Nov 18th, or Friday Nov 11th? Now Im confused because on my post I referred to possible 3 fridays. (or my communication skill is currently shot. If so, then my apology)

Are you referring to the weekend: 18/19/20 Nov or 11/12/13 ?

Again, my apology of my incessant questions.

When does it start getting busy for Tday, the week of or only the Thursday onwards?

Jenn

Tee hee, thanks JenniferW, I feel much better now. I thought I'm the only one confused about this whole thing.

The crowds will start climbing the Saturday BEFORE Thanksgiving, and get bigger and bigger as TD approaches. In general, they will drastically be cut in size the following Monday, with almost everyone leaving on Sunday. The whole week of Thanksgiving will be busy.

So Kelly- when Desnik was talking about "I think you'll be ok on that FRiday", she was talking about Friday- Nov. 18.... the day before the Saturday (the 19th) when the crowds will start arriving.

Does that help??
