Do I have a good chance to get seated before my adr time? I have mamma melrose F! for 12h55.. but sci-fi at 4h20.. I think that they are too close and it will be too much food. I was thinking of trying to go around noon at mamma to see if we can be seated.. If I dont, I think We will just share plate at sci-fi

Probably, but that is still too much food in too short of a period of time IMO. I never do a TS lunch and dinner in the same day.

I agree with PP, way to much food unless Sci Fi is just shakes or something
I have never eaten there but I thought I heard they have shakes

We eat at Mama Melrose each trip and we know its a 1 meal day

It depends on the restaurant and the day. We have been seated early, and we have been told to come back at our ADR time.

I wouldn't count on it.

At Sci-Fi they have some good desserts and milkshakes ... if you don't want to actually eat a meal, split or not.

We had table for 4 for dinner at Mama's in Aug 2014 and arrived about 20 minutes early and got seated about 10-20 minutes PAST ADR. We arrive early (10-20 minutes) at every ADR and very rarely get seated early. Lunch is more likely than dinner though.

I think it's a 50/50 shot. The only place we have had success in doing this was Hollywood and Vine last year. It was blazing hot and we were miserable and we just wanted to eat and get out of HS. We showed up about 30 minutes early and we're seated within minutes. All the others..if we have shown up early, it has always been right at our res. Time or later before we got in. But it's worth a shot.

Ty i M torn between what I want and what my boy want lol if we decide to do both..we are 2 adults ans 2 Children Can we just take two child meals and Split St sci-fi? IT is rrallye for the experience

We do things for experience too
Just do it, I would show up early and see if MM can seat u early. We had success there and at Chef Mickeys almost 30 min early
Sci Fi is not per person so I think you can order just what you want unless TS has rules about that.

(I will say when CM sat us 30min early they also charged us a no show fee, that they reversed eventually) just be on the look out

1) In most instances, you will be told to come back 15-min prior to ADR.
2) Sure, you MIGHT get lucky and they let you in due to low attendance at that moment, but would not plan upon it.

I will say that Mama Melrose is notorious for running late. Like a pp, we showed up approx 20 minutes early for our ADR last year and were sat 30 minutes PAST our time. Also, don't forget that the Fantasmic package gives you an app, entree and desert. That is a lot of food and will take some time to consume. Mama Melrose is not known for being fast. If you are sat at exactly your ADR time of 12:55, It will probably easily be 2:00 before you are finished with your meal...

We are at Disney now. We've seen many people at many different restaurants told to come back no earlier than 15 minutes prior to their reservation. At BOG, people are being told to come back no longer than 5 minutes before their reservations...and zero walkups are being allowed there, for anyone who might be wondering.

I've had lots of luck showing up early, but all my experience has been at resort restaurants. I was probably two hours early at Flying Fish with a party of 3 and seated almost immediately. We were over an hour early to Sanaa with a party of six, and waited just 15 minutes. Just this week, we were 90 minutes early to 'Ohana as a party of 2, and seated within 5 minutes.

Mama Melrose is usually running behind...so probably not BUT, it is still early in their day at that time so maybe...but don't count on it. And if you are there at a busy time of the year, Sci-Fi may also be running behind.

I'd keep them both and if you're not that hungry at Sci-Fi, split a burger.

Okay, you did not ask but I question why you are trying to have two TS meals so close together. Even if you are seated early at MM, and I doubt that you will be, but say you are....you have to plan at least 75 minutes for this meal. They are not known to rush. SO you get to your Hope to gain ADR at 11:45 to try to be seated for noon. You may be out between 1:15 and 1:30. And then you do what? Kill some time til you go check in for your 4:20 ADR at 4:05?

You get maybe a 2.5 hour break in between meals, less....way less if you need to keep that 1 P. If itwas me, I would keep one or the other, but not both. I usually have two S meals planned for many of our days, but one is around 1 PM and the other around 7 or 8.

There is no way I would use up about 3 hours of park time trying to squeeze restaurants in.

I see. Well keep looking, folds cancel all of the time. Just my .02, if you cannot make the switch, don't try to fit both in because you may end up frustrated.

We were seated early at every restaurant over the years except Teppan Edo. Not sure why we are always early lol it seems the way we roll. Now we weren't always that early but have been at times. I say give it a shot if you cannot get different times. We are doing two TS restaurants at HS because we love love love Prime Time and wanted to do the Fantasmic Minnie Christmas dinner.

,
We had that happen at Trail's end. We have credit card alerts on our account and a few hrs later got notice that we were charged the no show fee. We easily changed at the resort in mins, but I wonder would it have been so easy if I hadn't notice it for days or weeks later.

1) Let's discuss this, as it is VERY COMMON.
2) The "Ala Carte" dining reservation system
. . . the system will show any and all reservations.
. . . but, the system only shows/allows 2-hrs of ADR's for check-in purposes
. . . if you show within that time, the SEATER (aka, host/hostess) checks you in with no problem
. . . if you are too early, the SEATER must write your name and confirmation number down in long hand
. . . that long hand note is given to the manager
. . . the manager, then, will look at the non-shows at the end of the day and not charge you
3) Why doesn't this happen all the time?
. . . some SEATER's are simply lazy
. . . others just don't care (especially the newer and younger SEATER's)

4) If you show up early for your ADR, ask the SEATER if they have noted your confirmation number and that you have appeared for the ADR.
5) If the SEATER does not make a note of your arrival, you can bet you will see a no-show penalty-fee on your credit card.
