Going back to where it all started- Sept. 2010 PTR

Hi guys!

So I was starting to feel a bit overwhelmed with my trip details, I have been getting some GREAT ideas/thoughts from all of you, I've been wanting to jot them down in my Passporter, organize my travel documents some and just feel a bit more organized. I spent some time this morning doing so, last night we wrapped all of our change that we've been saving, we did great, the boys are so excited!!

We managed to save and roll $282!!!!!!!! Yay us!!!! So that will help us with parking the car at the airport and our souvies!!:wizard: It's amazing what saving your change can add up to!

Friday Cole had to go for allergy testing, he's had a peanut allergy since 2 mos. old, he had the prick test in his back, good news, he passed the 1st section, then we had to go and get two vials of blood tested, he was SUCH a trooper and SO beat up by the time we got through....so what do you think my little man deserved? You got it, a trip to the Disney store, to pick out whatever (within reason, of course!) he wanted!

This is what he ended up with, we got off cheap $12.50! Look how cute! It's a Captain hook sword and hook set! He has been playing with it NON stop since then, soo cute!

I was tempted to get this, too, but he was happy and maybe it's something to get while we're in WDW.

On another note, I'm now involved in a Photopass share, thanks to Brook!:goodvibes

Tracey and fam were away last week on a family vacation with her extended family so I'm looking forward to catching up with her and making some more concrete plans.

23 more days!!!!!!:dance3:

Hey guys,

I just wanted to share what I just bought with you for the trip, these are pretty cool...check them out, for those of you with little ones!

http://store.safetytat.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10&products_id=71

I'll update soon! Hope you're having a great weekend so far!:goodvibes

Those are VERY cool! I will have to look into that for a future trip.

$282! How long were you saving?! That's incredible! I was thrilled last time when I made $70. :rotfl:

Are they testing Cole to see if he's outgrown the allergy? That would be FANTASTIC! He picked a very cool sword. I have a feeling if Henry saw that he would be all about it as well!

And THANK YOU for doing the share! I'm so excited about it!

I love your decorated jar. DH and I use one of those water bottles from a water cooler. We usually roll the coins every two years. Looks like you ended up with quite the loot!

Allergy testing stinks, especially for the little ones. I agree that you got off pretty cheap at the Disney Store. We're down to only one Disney Store in our area. :sad2:

That's awesome about how much money you had in coins! :woohoo:

How long will it take to get Cole's results back?

I love how you decorated your change jar - very cute! And you guys did great, $282 is awesome :thumbsup2

Poor little Cole having to go through all that, he certainly did deserve a trip to the Disney Store! I'm curious too, are they checking to see if he has outgrown his allergy?

They are being shipped as we speak, I'll let you know how they work out!

We saved $182 in coins, $100 was a rebate that we had, we stuck it in there and just said "found" money for our trip. So pretty good! We've been doing it since New Years, I'd say for the trip!!:thumbsup2

They are testing to see if Cole outgrew his allergy. He was allergic to peanuts through my breast milk at about 2 mos. They don't test (here anyways) until 3 to see if they have outgrown it. He passed the prick skin test, we have to wait about 2 weeks for the blood work results, if he passes that, they we go for a "peanut challenge" where he will actually eat peanut butter in the dr. office and be supervised! The dr. said the fact he passed the 1st stage was great, but not to get our hopes up, and that only 20% of kids outgown these allergies. Fingers crossed a bit longer!!!!!! :wizard:

Thank you!!:goodvibes WOW...you guys must have quite the stash with one of those big bottles!!! Good for you! It's amazing how little you put in every day and what it can add up to!!!:thumbsup2

The closest Disney store here is a good 1/2 hour away, but we were up in that area for Cole's testing so we popped in...it was nice to get a fix!!!;)

I know, thank you!!! :) The blood work will take about 2 weeks the dr. said....fingers crossed!!!!:goodvibes

Aww thanks Michelle!! We did great, soooo excited, that will be a BIG help!:thumbsup2

Thanks for asking about Cole, they are, he had the peanut allergy through my milk at about 2 mos. old, as soon as i stopped eating peanut butter, he cleared right up! We've had an epi pen for a long time now, and thankfully have never had to use it! Scary stuff!! Hoping he won't be flagged in school and will have outgrown this allergy. I'll let you know how we make out!!:goodvibes thanks for asking!!

Hey Kristen!

Love everything. Love the jammies, great job on saving the money and sorry to hear about Coley going through the allergy testing. Hope everything works out ok and he doesn't have to go through any more of that. Can't believe you are so close to your trip now :)

Hi Tracy!

So glad you're here. Thanks for your nice compliments!!:goodvibes Fingers crossed on Coley's testing!

I know, it's SO close right now! almost 22 days!!!!!!!:cloud9:

Just noticed how many people have been looking at my PTR! If you're lurking, please come out and say hello, I'd love for you to join in!!! We're a friendly group!!!:flower3:

All fingers crossed for Cole! Sure makes typing difficult. ;) Seriously though, that is scary stuff...I know other families who have peanut allergies in their house and they really have to take some serious precautions! I've heard some downright frightening stories with that allergy. :sad2: Hoping for Cole, and you, that he's in that 20%!

How do you get involved in a Photopass share? I would love to do this to make it more affordable.

There is a group on Facebook-I think if you just look up "Photopass Share" it will pop up. For ours I just knew enough DISers going at the same time and PM'ed everyone...and everyone said YES! :thumbsup2

Those safety tattoos look great :thumbsup2 We got something similar through a freebie, hopefully they work out well. I don't know where I should put it on his body though? I don't think he is old enough to remember to tell a CM "my mom's number is under my shirt!" :lmao: I may just put it on the back of his arm?

Great job on the change! I've just started bringing huge jars of change into our bank for Disney $$- we are notorious for leaving it everywhere around our house and never doing anything with it! So far I've deposited $255 and that isn't even 1/4 of the change in our house! We might be able to pay for our whole trip this way! :rotfl:

Is anyone else still having trouble with the DIS being slow/not loading right? Every time I click on the last page of most threads, it gives me the 503 not available message. So annoying! I wonder if I just need to clear my cookies or something? :confused3

I'm not having any trouble tonight. Try the cookies thing...hopefully that helps!

You've got a LOT of change!!!! I wish we could say the same. :rotfl:

Aww, thanks Brook,I really appreciate that!!! And  about typing with your fingers crossed!!!

It has been scary and I would love for his sake for him not to have to worry about it. Thanks for thinking of us!! I'll keep you posted, once we know!!!:goodvibes

Thanks for answering Brook, I went to bed kind of early last night!!

My fingers will be crossed on Cole's peanut allergy! I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled on fb!

Thank you Kimmy!!!!

I never got that far as to wear I would put the tattoos! :lmao: Hmm...my big boys will be fine, but Cole, good point....do you think putting it on their forearm so people can see it will be okay?? I got the ones that you just put a phone number, so it's not like anyone will know his name, you know? Hmm.....

WOW!!!!:yay: Good for you and your change!:yay: That is unreal.....i'm so impressed!! Get wrapping!!!!

I've heard a lot of people having trouble, I've been lucky I guess, no issues here, knock on wood!!:goodvibes

Awesome job saving up the change. Isn't it astonishing how quickly it accumulates? I always love cashing it in for "free" money before I trip. I use those machines at the market that take some percent as a fee... I can't stand the idea of rolling the coins myself.

Fingers crossed that Cole will be among the 20% who outgrow the allergy!!
