Going back to our 'happy place" w/pics link to my trip report( 9/7)

:rotfl: That baggallini must be huge! I can't believe it all fit in there! :thumbsup2

I'm feeling like a bad planner now cuz I haven't even started to think about packing! I'd better get going and make my packing list!

MGM, I think for 1/2 day your plans sound doable, but you'll be going straight from one attraction to the next to fit it all in!

Hi dismom!!!!!!!

I am only on page one, but I wanted to stop and say I'm hooked already. The kids are super cute and I can't wait to catch up later today after work!!!!

Have a good day. Hope all is well!!!

Tasha

A little background. We probably shouldn't be taking this trip because of financial reasons. When I planned it I knew it was a longshot. But with saving every dollar I can and some help from grandparents who refused to cancel we will be going .We will go on a strict budget though. That is okay with us,we are used to it.Last year on a nine day trip I spent just over $100.That included souvenirs for Harleygirl and her boys and two souvenirs for me.:woohoo:

Well a couple of months ago my mom gave us a big jar of pennies. We are firm believers in saving change for vacations. The $100 mentioned above came from the change jar.:thumbsup2 She didn't want to mess with counting pennies so told me to take them.We added the pennies we had and tonight we counted them. The total was $58 !  I still have my silver jar of change to count so we should have plenty of money for food on the way there and back and the little things we need.BTW,the kids will have their own spending money.

A budget trip to Disney is better than no trip at all anyday!!!:cheer2:
21 days left!!!!

I always save change too and am cashing it in just before we go, it REALLY does add up. For the last 3 months I've been putting aside a % of my tips (I'm a hairstylist) each day I work to help pay for the trip and does THAT ever add up. I'm not a souvie buyer so our extra $$$ is for drinks.

I have only read the first few pages of your TR so far but I am loving it too. I have to know where you got the shoes, YK, "the shoes", because I also need to get dd 2 inches taller for some rides. She is 46 inches and some rides at Busch Gardens Tampa require 48 inches. I think you sound like the kind of gal who would appreciate my tips on getting children to grow.:rotfl: We also have some shoes that might work that we would take off and on only on certain rides. But so far I can only find one of said shoe, the mate is missing!!!! If I can't find the other one I shall have to resort to other means.

I love the pic of your mom at DW, such joy. Your trip plan looks good. I think you are going to have a lot of fun!:woohoo:

Amy,

I'm glad to hear the baggallini holds so much... I'm going to use mine for the first time this tomorrow for our long weekend trip to Lake Tahoe. I'm going to try the crocs out also.

I'm also saving change - we are throwing it all in an extra drawer DH has.. last time we cashed out $300!! (I don't think we will have that much this time but by Nov it could be close to $200).

Have fun packing :thumbsup2

Just starting your report but had to tell you how CUTE your kids are!!! My dd used to be a huge Mary Poppins fan and when she turned 4 my Mom (who is British) called her pretending to be MP. Dd totally fell for it and it was great! We saw the show in London last Nov. and really enjoyed it. Back to reading! :surfweb:
HI!! Thanks for reading.:goodvibes Would your mom like to call my DD??;) Or my mom?We called them MP stalkers last year.

It doesn't look big but thats why I did the "trial pack".I know I am still worried about MGM.I think we need to trim our must do list.:sad2:

I have also been putting aside "found money" when I can.Found money is unexpected money like cash from consignment sales and babysitting money.I have a babysitting job this weekend that will pay $10 an hour.

Let me know how the bag works for you.And the crocs.I love my crocs!!I wish I would have $200 in change but I don't think so.I will probably roll it this weekend.

13 days left!!!!!

We usually spend two days at MGM-it is one of our favorites. This year we only have one day and need to leave at about 4:00pm(we have an ADR at 6:00 at Coral Reef). Our must dos are-RnRC,Beauty and the Beast,Little Mermaid, parade,Star Tours,Animation studios(for the drawing class),Playhouse Disney,High School Musical pep rally. We would also like to do the concert Imagination Movers.
~Arrive 8:30am
~Me and DD8 and DS9 go to RnRC and ride
Grandparents and DD3 get FP for concert and go to Playhouse Disney @9:30
Do you think older kids and I could get there before it starts?
~after PHD someone take DD8 and DS9 to Animation Studios
and someone take DD3 to Little Mermaid
~Imagination Movers concert at 11:15
~Lunch at CS FPV Star Tours
~Pep Rally @1:00
~Beauty and the Beast @ 1:45
~ride Star Tours? or get in line for parade?
~parade @ 3:00
~Star Tours if didn't ride before
~Leave park

Or we could all go to Playhouse disney and ride RnRC later with baby swap?I don't want to miss Playhouse Disney with DD3 but we can't miss RnRC either. We will be coming back to MGM for Fantasmic on 9/3 and it has EMH so we could probably ride RnRC then too. :scared:

Please Help!!!

Here are a few pics from last year to get ya in the mood.:goodvibes

Harleygirl,I just realized as I posted this that your group may not want to hang around with us too much on this day.:sad1: Most of it is either girly or preschool.Maybe we could ride RnRC together and do the drawing class and then split up.:confused3

I would do RnRC first. As it's the bigger attraction, get as early as you can to avoid the crowds then do Disney Playhouse. You''ll feel so much less pressure when you get those two things accomplished right away!

I'd prolly skip Star Tours you'll want to get your spot for the parade around 3:30ish. However, get a fastpass for it so you won't have to wait in line after the parade.

Great pics! We missed Beauty and the Beast last year so its a must do for us this year! We're also spending a half day there this trip!

if you are getting there before it closes for rehab definatly make sure you get RnR.... Love the plans!!

WE love beauty and the Beast.:goodvibes Definitely don't miss it.I do think we will do RnRC first and let my parents take her to playhouse Disney if we don't get there in time.

HI! This day is driving me nuts!WE will not miss RnRC! It is one of our favorites.

Well my parents changed things again. They want to see Lights,Motor,Action.I think they will go while I take Rachel to the concert. We will probably go to the EMH on 9/3.I wanted to avoid this because we have a full day at MK after that but we can sleep when we get home.At work and school.:rolleyes1 I still need to see what is open during the EMH to see if it will be worth it for us.

Amy....MGM is so hard! The shows, the times, etc. Your plan looks good to me.

But.

No Tot??!!?? It's a must-do for us!

We have not done the amination studio. Should we? What's it like?

OH....and I love the picture of the kids at the countdown calendar. That Peyton is a hoot!

Hi, Melinda!Yes MGM is the hardest of all.:scared:

I am the only one that wants to ride TOT in my group.:confused3 If I am with Harleygirl and her DH and they decide to ride, I will do it .

The Animation Studios is so much fun.The little film at the sart is okay but if you or your kids like art it is a must do.There are computers to play on but my kids LOVE the drawing class.I posted a picture of the long tables. In the front of the room is an animater and he takes you through the steps to draw the characters. My kids learned to draw Donald Duck,Goofy, and some others.I will post a picture of some of their drawings later. On our first day they did the class three times and then later we made a trip back to MGM just so they could draw more.:thumbsup2 Oh yeah...if you just want to draw and not watch the film go through the giftshop.
