Well I wasn't supposed to be going back until Oct. 2004, but I priced out the Disney Visa package and DD and I can go for 4 nights at AsMo for a little over $800. That includes round trip air, hotel, and park tickets. I decided to go the last week of January for my b-day! I'm so excited, but I want to surprise DD and not tell her until the morning we leave. It's going to be really hard between making sure no one spills the beans, to packing without her knowing. To those of you who have surprised your kids this way, how did you pull it off???

Well, I won't be much help on the tips for the suprise, as soon as I make the Ressie's, I am on the phone to everyone I know. But, I'm happy for you and your DD. Have fun planning and even more fun there.

My surprise wasn't disney-but to another state to see NSYNC. She left for school, I packed her bags, called school to get her out early, picked her up and off we went. I took her and a friend. THey drove me nuts the whole way there. THey figured it out when we got to the hotel and saw the groups buses, as we stayed at the hotel and they got to meet them. THey were so surprised and it was awesome. Have fun!

I'm already dying to tell her. She shares my Disney obsession and we talk about Disney all the time! I told her a while back about how I read on these boards that some people suprise their kids & don't tell them until it's time to leave for Disney. She thought that was so cool :smooth: I want to hold out and not tell her until I wake her up the morning we leave, but won't she miss out on fun & excitement of planning?

LOL, I haven't been able to do it yet, but my SIL did it. They left on Christmas morning.

I can understand your excitement, we are doing the same thing in February for our DD's Birthday!princess:

I'm thinking of waking her up that morning with a bunch of Disney balloons in her room (hopefully I won't wake her up until I am done putting them in her room) and giving her the Disney book for Kid by Kids and a card that says "Happy Birthday, now get up we're going to Disney World"!!! Then start the day off with Mickey pancakes or waffles. We have never done this before, and a couple of times I almost slipped and mentioned us going.

Sending you some pixie dust for a wonderful trip!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I have done a surpise trip .. we actually were headed to a wedding in KY but I got us tickets to MCO then we drove .. My DD picked up on the " we will make sure your bags get safely to Orlando " and was like what , what did he say mom !! and then it clicked and she was very excited and had to explain to her little brother what was going on .. ( we did wedding first then drove back for a week at Disney! ) It was hard but soo worth the look of sheer joy on their faces .. One year I did a scavenger hunt for their bithday's ( had a party together one has b-day in Oct and one in Nov ) and I had clues for the airplane/port , the Hotels and the last one was a picture of Disney and Mickey and the gang saying - " Because I love you , Lets go to Disney the Day after Thanksgiving for TWO WEEKS !! " That was fun too and they got to do some planning in the month left before the trip ! as for the packing for the trips .. We live in Maine .. when I put the summer clothes away , I just put them in our suitcase .. ! You can do .. Keep the surprise .. its well worth it ! good luck Michelle
