DD is 5 yo. We took her to disney once when she was 3.5. WE REALLY HAD A GREAT TIME! AMAZING actually. We are thinking about number 2, and it will be another 4 years before we would feel the second would be old enough for another Disney Trip. But DD will be 9 by then. Should we take DD again alone, or wait for number 2 to catch up?? She loves Disney and is asking to go back, but DH isn't a real big Disney guy, and is all over the waiting another 5 to go again. We are currently in NY, so its a big to do for us to go. Not like next door or anything. What are your thoughts? I am sure some of you have been in the same situation.:laundy:

This was kinda' like our dilemma for the 1st trip. Our DD was 4 and DS not even 2 yet (22 months). I was afraid if we waited till DS was 'old enough', we'd miss the magical window for DD. I'm SOOOO glad we went when we did. DS had a GREAT time even though he was on the young side. We had two big concerns with him - one is that he was a little timid and we were afraid he would be frightened by the characters, and the other is that we didn't know if there would be much for him to do. It turns out everything went absolutely perfect, and so we've been back twice more since then (and another scheduled in October).

So... I don't see anything wrong with taking your DD one more time before she gets a DSibling, but if you wait, there's no need to wait 4 yrs.

I think you should take her now...It would be nice for her to have one more special trip for just the 3 of you. If she enjoyed it that much at 3.5 years imagine how great it would be now:) If you decide to wait..you really dont have to wait 4 years. I just feel that you only have a short amount of time where Princess' and fairytales are real to the kids....
I have a 5,4 and 19 month DDs i have been taking them at least once a year since my oldest was 8 months old..even when they were babies or 1 or 2..we still had fun and took awesome pics and have wonderful memories. Even if they dont remember from when they were babies..Dh and i do.
I say take her..have fun then have fun trying for #2..lol Good Luck!!!

Our kids were 4.5 and 2 (had his birthday at WDW) during our last trip. We were not planning to go back for a few years, but DH and I decided that we wanted to make sure our oldest went again while it was still magical to her, so we are going in December. We decided to do all of the girly things she may not be into for long- like Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique and princess meals. Who knows if she will still be into these things in a few years? We wanted to take advantage now.

As far as taking a younger child, WDW is so child friendly, we had no trouble at all. Plus he was FREE!!!! Let me tell you another ticket and dining plan member has made a big difference in our total cost.

Plus, our family planning didn't work out the way we intended, so if it takes longer to get pregnant than you anticipate, then you will putting off your trip for even longer. I say go for it!

Go now, 5 is the perfect age. We took DD at age 5, we waited an extra year because she was not that tall. We went again at age 9 when DS was born and he stayed home. We took some time off and waited 5 years until DS was 5 and DD was 14. We went back last year and DS wants to go this year again (8/13-8/22 OKW). DD is 18 and wants no part of a vacation with her parents and WDW:confused3 or is it :woohoo: Anyway, we live in CT and I feel your pain of getting down there. Jetblue has some great deals going out of White Plains (non-stop).

Maybe will see you, but you have to go!:thumbsup2

I'd say go now and go when you have a little one. My older two children are 22 months apart. I waited until my son was tall enough to ride alot of the rides. Now we have a third child, not expected, but loved just the same. We debated waiting until she was old enough or go now (we went in Feb.) The older kids were 7 & 5 and the baby was 7 months. We are going to go again in March and then wait a couple of years until our littlest one can enjoy Disney, but at least I know that big kids got their magic now.
