It looks like I will be going alone with my 3 kids - ages 12, 10, & 6 in August..

My kids are well behaved so I don't think that will be a problem, but I am nervous about being alone with them in The World for a whole week...I have been there alone with them but only for 2 days..I am not sure if I will have as much fun without DH or the usual group of friends we travel with or if being the only parent will be too much....

Anyone out there who has done this I could use your advice and or guidance.

Thanks.....

I would be very sad to go on any trip without my DH, however, if this is the only way you and the kids would be able to do it I say "go for it!" Your kids are old enough to not be too much trouble, I would never do it with a baby or toddler and no other adult.

I would go for it. It will be a different trip but you will have different memories too.

Go for it--the kids are old enough...

I have done 1 day--twice--one successfully, one not--the one not--turned out my 3yo was sick (didn't know until we got there and got in)...the other time was okay...just had to explain to my 3yo that baby sister wasn't big enough for Goofy barnstormer...and after explaining that she couldn't sit on my lap--we had an okay time--though pretty much in Fantasyland.

I have taken the kids with DH several times...his schedule just wouldn't allow time off. We ususally go for a week at a time and we have always had a blast! It is a different kind of trip than those you mentioned but it will be full of memories.

Good luck and have a great trip!

Thanks for the well wishes and encouragement...

I think I will go for it..I am renting points to stay at the Boardwalk..I definitely want to stay on property..

My DD who is 5 and I are Disney Girls as we like to call ouselves and my DH is a work-a-holic. DD and I go at least two or 3 times a year and my DH has only been once. Now we have an 8 mo. old DS who has already been to Disney twice and we are going again in a month. I took DD and DS(4 mo. at the time)in Nov. and we had a blast. The thing I loved most was just getting away from "life" and having fun. And remember you do not have to spend everyday at a park. They would probably love the pool or mini golf. And imho I didn't have to worry if DH was bored, or tired, or hungry,... I could just really enjoy the kids. HAVE FUN!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I am doing the same thing.
Six years ago I took my then 6YO DD alone while DH stayed home with our new DS (8 mos). We had a complete blast - girls only dream princess vaca.
So now, I am taking DS (6 YO), DD (now 13) and her BF (13). We are very well prepared and not worried about a thing. Staying completely on prop, no rental car, w/ length of stay passes (8 days). I figure the two 13 yo are OK to go on another ride in the same general area as DS and I. We will set down certain rules first, meeting places, communication tools, etc....
DH will not come with us. He hates the heat, crowds, rides, noise, and would make us all miserable if he "had" to come. So, we have a blast without him and when we get home there is usually a new home project completed for me. Yay!

You will have a great time being with your kids! Enjoy!

DD (then 3) and I will be going alone next year and I can hardly wait! I am even more excited about this trip than the family trip we just took! We get to do all the girly princess stuff that the "guys" (DH, DS 10 and DS 11) wouldn't let us do last time, lol.

I will also be taking the boys on a separate trip, just the three of us and look forward to doing all the thrill rides and Disney Quest with them! Though they love their little sister dearly I know they will enjoy having some time away from her too.
