Uggg! I find it harder and harder to do Christmas each year! I think it's because my kids are grown (19 and 22). You'd think that would make it so much easier but for some reason it's harder to get into the spirit when they're not around and I'm not "playing Santa." I do have plans, though, to start my Christmas cookie baking next weekend! I hope baking and putting on some Holiday tunes will jump start me to at least start thinking about shopping!

Nonetheless, I have an envie ready to go in tomorrow's mail for you. Hopefully, you'll find some coupons that you can use!

Have a wonderful week, everyone!

My kids are 29 and 26 and I still LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas. When the stores first begin decorating, I am the first one in the stores looking for ANYTHING related to Christmas...I don't care what month of the year it is! Even when I see the first signs of Christmas candy on the shelves I get excited!

For me, it's just the "feeling", the "sentiment", or "state of mind" of the whole season in general that is so wonderful! I adore walking through the stores and seeing all the beautiful decorations, the ornaments on all the trees, and all the shelves and racks filled with pretty new clothes and gifts. I also love walking down our tree lined main street filled with beautiful white twinkling lights and decorations and the streets filled with the sounds of Christmas carols gently playing over the intercom. Of course, the holidays would never be complete without our yearly ritual of visiting the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree and all the stores on 5th Avenue beautifully adorned with their holiday decorations.
Park Avenue is also a sight to behold with all the glistening Christmas trees lining the meridian for as far as the eyes can see.

Even when my kids were little, we never focused on the gifts or shopping. There were always just a few presents under the tree; but lots of decorations, sending Christmas cards, reading Christmas stories, Christmas music and movies, and of course, all the fabulous smells of homemade cookies baking!

The entire season is just so awesome for me that I actually feel really down when all the decorations around town start disappearing before the first of January. Only myself and a few others leave our trees up (and lit!) until after the first week in January! :santa:

It truly is the GREATEST time of the year! :thumbsup2

I forgot to mention...my son (26), boyfriend, and myself all go into A & P where they have a Christmas tree with "wish tags" hanging as decorations. Each tag contains a child's gender, wish list, and age and we each pick several tags, shop for their "wishes" and return the gifts back to A & P to be distributed. Maybe if you want to play Santa, you might consider doing something similar. Even if your local stores don't have such a thing, I'm sure there are several other charities that could use your assistance in bringing joy to children (and adults) who are in need. :flower3: Maybe by doing so you will feel more excited about the season. :thumbsup2

Oh yes! We absolutely do!!! My extended family adopts a family through Catholic Charities each year. I'm actually the designated shopper because I can make our money stretch so far! And, we also pick tags off the Giving Tree at Church. Hubby is in sales and he takes a tag from the tree at every one of his clients offices!

I'm not a total Grinch! I just have a hard time getting into the spirit until we get our tree and decorate and have parties. We get a real tree each year so we only leave it up for about 3 or 4 weeks.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll start getting there after Thanksgiving. It happens every year! I'm just a little behind schedule in shopping this year but I know it will all get done no matter what!

Julie8 Thanks for the envie from last week!! Got it Saturday

Envie headed your way tomorrow.

Last weeks savings at least $25!

momof2disneyfans,

Lately I have been getting your envies on Saturday. For 2 weeks there wasn't any. I just assumed there was a glitch somehere because I usually got them on Friday.

Lackeygang,

I'm so sorry but this week's envie, and it's a big one, cannot be mailed until tomorrow. My parents are out of town and I can't get to the po before it closes. My daycare is open 6am to 5:30 pm and I don't get a lunch break.
