Absolutely an amazing movie and probably one of Pixar's best. I'm still trying to decide if it becomes my number one favorite, topping my previous favorite, Finding Nemo.

It's that good.

The animation is so beautiful and Dug the dog will have you laughing your asses off.

I got 5 texts about this movie tonight! All the same response, excellent!

Hmmmmm :confused3

I didn't even know Pixar had another movie coming out. I haven't even seen Wall-E yet. :guilty::guilty:

I really need to make plans to see it. DS only has 3 days of school left, and they are all half days. Maybe one afternoon next week? Hmmm. I guess I need to see if DH wants to come with us. That could make it more complicated.

Did you see it 3D or regular? I have been hearing so many good things about this movie, my kids have been itching to see it for MONTHS!!! LOL
we may go monday if its not a good beach day :thumbsup2

Oddly, this is the first movie my mom has expressed interest in seeing in years. It is my understanding that there is a subtle theme of loss through-out. I love getting her out and about -- but I worry a little bit about what she might take away from it. (From the previews I think she'll LOVE Dug the dog). What do you folks who have already seen it think?

We saw it in 2D because the three theaters that are showing in 3D here in Dallas, are kind of scary to go to. So we figured that we'd try seeing the 3D version next weekend during the day rather then night when it's safer.

From what I'm told, the 3D isn't an "in your face" type but rather just an enhancement to the movie. Plus the 3D isn't AS colorful as the 2D. The opening scene where the balloons come out and carry the house off is one of the most beautiful, so is when they find Paradise Falls for the first time.

I really need to go buy a Dug stuffed animal.

:goodvibesSaw it this morning - great, great, great film! I had tears during several parts in the movie (as did many adults sitting by me). The loss depicted will go over kids heads, but hits hard for adults. Loved Doug the dog (and the fact the little boy was asian). Wonderful film and the cloud short before film was wonderful!

Yeah, I really want to see it...

Reports from 'the front' are that it's *really* good.

Maybe tomorrow, if I can get Keith out of the house.... ;)

Just got home from seeing it in 3D and it was just fantastic! It's a great story, breathtaking animation. As zeitzeuge mentioned, the 3D is really just enhancing the animation and the experience, and it really does. I love watching it with the real sense of depth and awesome perspective.:3dglasses The story, much like Wall-E, seems to me would appeal to just about everyone. The boy who plays Russell was just brilliant. Such an expressive voiceover for (what seemed to be) such a young kid. And yes, I too, just LOVED Doug the Dog. I would recommend this movie to anyone...without reservation. It was also fun for me to seeing a few Bay Area references...the ice cream parlor they refer to, Fenton's, is one of my favorites!

We took Mark at his word, and went to see it last night...OMG, it's THAT good. We saw the 3-D and no, it's not in your face, but to us, it was amazing. Yes, bring tissue, and yes, you'll laugh ALOT! There were some scenes that I would have bet my life, were REAL not animated, it's just that good! :thumbsup2

Just got back from seeing "UP" in 3D. Incredible. Very good. I was not expecting the level of emotion in the film. I was weepy pretty much the whole time including the short "Partly Cloudy".

That's exactly what I'm worried about with my mom. I think I am going to have to go see it first, assess the impact, and if it doesn't look promising, I may hafta mess up and take her into another movie by mistake...

Check it out at the Cinemark 17 at Webb Chapel and 635....:3dglasses

Saw it last nite in 3D and LOVED it!! Can't really say anything that hasn't been said already....

Wonderful movie....thank god I had extra napkins...and that short (Partly Cloudy) was great too!!

Enjoy the movie!

DH and I just saw UP this evening. We both agreed on UP and the featured short: Blech to both of them!

"We didn't laugh. We didn't cry. We did kiss 10 bucks goodbye."

To think we could have stayed home to watch the bonus material from "A Bugs Life" Blu-Ray instead. Sigh.

Wow ... another winner from Pixar. I can't believe how emotional it was. Amazing animation too.

It was fabulous! The only gripe is why did Pleasure Island 24 put their 3D projection in one of their old, crappy theaters?!?!

Dug reminded me so much of my boy, Logan. If you own a big goofy Lab or Retriever you'll see similarities, too. [He's the one on the right]
