Go or Run...what would you do?

Our Spring Break next year falls the week prior to Easter Sunday. We have been planning a trip for Spring Break but now I am not so sure. I did a google search about this time frame and it doesn't look good. Seems Easter time frame is the 2nd busiest time. Anyone have any experience with this?

Would you go or would you run for the hills?

Our Spring Break was the week after Easter this year. I ran. It wasn't so much the crowds that scared me away (although it played a big part )but it was the expense! Airfare was CRAZY expensive.

We have been the week before Easter for the past two years during our daughter's spring break. It has been wonderful. You need a good plan, pre-rope drop arrival, an afternoon break at your resort, ADRs to get out of the crowds and relax, and some strategically timed FP+s. This year we also had park hoppers which I think helped. It allowed us to start at the EMH park and take advantage of one hour when no one had FP+s, and then hop to a recommended park when we returned from our afternoon break. I wouldn't run from it, I would grab the opportunity and have a great vacation.

Personally--I would go. But my family goes a few times a year so we are just happy to be there. WDW is our happy place.

Now on the flip side--if this was a once in a lifetime trip for someone--or a first timer I would say to pick a different week. Pick one less crowded so that it is not so intimidating.

My BFF and her family went this year before Easter and she said NEVER AGAIN. Crowds were so thick and weather so hot they often did not go back after midday break. She said whole family felt the trip was rather wasted.

I have been to Disney many times as a mother at the following times (some months more than once):
Feb
April
late May
July
September
October

Of all of those, there is only one I REFUSE to go back in: APRIL! It was HORRIBLE for crowds. To me, knowing if I had waiting one more month I could have waits of around 30 minutes at 11am (besides things like Toy Story and Soarin) instead of 60-100 minutes at 11am, felt like a waste.

We just went this time in late May and we absolutely loved it. Perfect weather and not crowded at all!

We used to go for Spring Break but ours is the last full week of March so it rarely collides with Easter.

I just remember one time a few years ago that the peak Spring Breaks collided with Easter and it was a weekend of capacity closures.

No thank you. The only time I've ever dealt with that was during the Unleash the Villains event and I never want anything to do with large crowds like that again. How can people enjoy themselves? I even remember the first time we went in September vs. our previous summer or Spring Break trips and it was a sweet relief. Going April 2010, without Spring Break or Easter to worry about was nice but still too crowded for us.

I say go. We have been going in April for years now. Some years Easter coincides and others it doesnt. This year we went the day before easter and the week following. The weather was perfect! We purchased Airfare in July 2013 for April 2014 and we got a great price for 4 of us nonstop roundtrip 1,300.00 There were room discounts out and package deals to be had also. Park hours were extended and if you get to the parks for opening and tour early then break at the resort for a pool time/rest then back out later on it is AWESOME. We love going in Spring...not as humid, kids dont miss school and really the scary crowds that people swear by, we just didnt see. For some maybe they thought it was crowded, but for us nope. Enjoy planning and hope this helped!

Go! Get there for rope drop, get some ADRs in the park for lunch if you think a nice break might help...FPP will be helpful. Think of some fun things to do at the resorts as well for a break. As long as you are cool with getting less done bc of crowds, it's all good.
