Go IOA on Sun. or Mon.?

OK, the fam is heading to Orlando in April, and I'm trying to plan just a little bit (not as much as when we went to WDW 2 years ago, though! )

So, here's what we're looking at:

We leave MS at about 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11th. We will get to Orlando later that evening and check into our hotel (Hilton Garden Inn).

We have 2 full days (Sun., April 12th and Mon. April 13th). We are going to IOA 1 day and Wet N Wild the other day. Whichever day we go to Wet N Wild, we are going to Midieval Times for dinner. The day we go to IOA, we will eat dinner at the park.

So, I'm wondering should we do IOA on Sunday the 12th or Monday the 13th? Which day (if either) would be least busy at IOA?

Any insight on my trip is appreciated!

Sweet. Thanks a bunch. I was kind of thinking the same thing, hut wasn't sure. I've only been to Orlando once, 2 years ago.

We went in April 2007. We did MK 1 day, MGM 1 day, and US 1 day.

With economy in the crapper, we can only afford a short trip this go 'round, so we are doing IOA and Wet n Wild.

When we went in '07, MK was so crowded that it ended up not being much fun, especially with a 4 and 5 year old, who don't like lines!

MGM was marginally better, though not much.

Then we went US, and after the other 2 parks, we felt like we had the place to ourselves! We rode MIB 3 times, back to back to back - no line!

I'm debating on buying the Express pass. We did when we went in 2007, because after not getting to ride the best rides in MK due to long lines, we didn't want to miss anything at US. Turns out we really didn't need them.

But who says that this year will be like '07. I'd hate to not buy them, and then miss the best rides at IOA. But I'd also hate to spend $229 (family of 6) and not even need them. That's a chunk of changed wasted if we don't even need them.

Any advice on that point?

they are sold at 4 different places, guest services and 2 stores in the parks.


they are only valid for one ride each and are non refundable.

Like others have said that Sunday is Easter. We're in Florida at Easter too, and I checked some park statistics. The statistics say that the crowds will most definately be busier on easter sunday. So if it was me, I'd go on Monday

you can buy the epp at the main merch stores.
one in each park and it is located near the entrance of the park

you can also buy them at either guest service for the parks.


i don't think it would take very long to buy them in the merch stores.
there are TM at the cash registers and they are spread out in the store.

Looks like we will go there on Sunday and go to IOA Monday.

I think we have decided to forgo the souvenir drink cup/free refill dealio.

Thank GOD all 4 of my kiddos like water the best. We'll just bring our own water bottles and fill them at water fountains.

I think we are going to do the meal deal thingy though. My brood can really eat!

(I'm not kidding. Our grocery bill is over $1000 a month! )

I haven't been there in a long time but I think the crowd is dependant upon the weather somewhat. The weather here has been beautiful so I would imagine it's been pretty crowded especially on weekends more than the weekdays since school is still in session.

Orange County is March 30 - April 3 and Seminole County is April 6 - April 10...I think Osceola is the same as Seminole so you're good.
