Go cheap & short this year or...

I personally would choose short trip now and maybe another short trip later. As another very wise Diser posted, two 6 day trips is more than the one 10-day trip--6 x 2 = 12 and 12 > 10 (sorry the math teacher in me is coming out). :teacher:

I have stayed at moderate hotels (CB, POR, POFQ) and even once at DVC (OKW) and have never felt as though I am "missing" any of the Dinsey magic. :wizard: Look into buying points for DVC. We did this two years ago with OKW studio--peak season--July and got 5 nights for $540. The room was much larger than a standard room at value or moderate, had a large bathroom, and a kitchette (microwave, frig, toaster, sink and counter for preparations). I have never stayed at Poly so I can't compare to its size. The kitchette saved us lots of money by eating breakfast in our rooms ($40-50 a day) and having a place to store snacks to bring inside the parks (with water $2 - $2.50 a bottle, we saved over $10 a day with just bringin go ur own water). :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We are staying at POP this December :santa: (7 nights) so I could save money on room costs so we could do more during our trip--MVMCP, DDP (have always wanted to try some of Disney's table service meals, but thought they were greatly overpriced), sleigh rides, etc.

As stated before, I would choose NOW and maybe later, because you never know what will happen within the next year and then no trip at all. :confused3

G8r4evr, even I am not a Gator fan (GEAUX TIGERS!!), I love your baby ticker--CONGRATULATIONS upcoming arrival!!!

Children are a gift from God; enjoy every blessed minute of it. Isn't it a miracle how our children grow.

thank you all for your input. I priced out our 10 days and had a bit of shellshock, lol. We are actually thinking of a compromise, 10 days, still deluxe, but Wildnerness lodge Dec 6-16,2008.

I would definitely wait. It sounds as if you would rather enjoy indulging yourself later than squeezing in a vacation that you might not enjoy now because you will not have the proper amount of funds. Waiting can be hard. I am with you. I am not going to be able to go until Oct 2008, but I am doing alot of planning and really enjoying it. I am learning so much on the board that I did not even know that was out there for my children's age range.
