Gnomies Gone Wild

Hi, Christine! When I was talking to Charles yesterday, he was fine with me changing my mind. In fact, he said we should stick with our original plans to stay at CBR so we could stay longer.

Then, he said he would convince the kids if I would buy him a new xbox game.

DO IT! That is a great deal. Kids can easily be swayed. :lmao: Heck, I'll buy him the xbox game and I'll send Chelsea a bottle of sand. She can pretend the pool is the beach. :rolleyes1

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Those airbrushed shirts? Ick, Ick. I hope they are not making a comeback. :upsidedow

They just scream tacky beach vacations to me! I never had any desire for one!

Does she know there is nothing to do at the beach?? Is she trying to find some summer loving ala Grease or something? :rotfl:

Knowing Chelsea probably! :rotfl:

She seems to think there will plenty to do -- although she did say she wanted to go to the mall there. Really? She wants to go to a generic mall that has the same shops that every mall in the United States has? 'Cause that sounds like a blast to me -- not!

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: You are too funny!

I need to decide before June 3 when our final payment is due.

I am so indecisive right now. One minute I am all for Disney, and the next minute I am thinking we should stick with our Hilton Head plans.

If I dropped the dining plan, it would be quite reasonable. Although, I would still have to figure out a budget for food.

I really think you should go to Disney. I think Moms know best and you know that Chelsea will have a much better time at Disney. She is too young for summer lovin'.

You can do a reasonable food budget I am sure. Is Connor considered a child or adult on the dining plan? The dining plan is great because it's prepaid but the last two trips I've been on I liked the flexibility to order whatever I want. You can share meals too, they are HUGE. I don't know. I just don't want you to go to Hilton Head and regret it and I really think you will. You belong in Disney and gosh darnit you need to see that Main Street Electrical parade!

We always seem to end up with so much food that we can't eat on the Dining Plan, and Connor is considered an adult this year -- that adds a lot to the dining plan. We usually don't want the desserts because we like the snacks around the park like Dole Whips and such.

I do really need to see the MSEP. ;)

The question then becomes -- do I do CBR for five nights or Beach Club for four? Hmmm...

I really like the snacks around the park. Yum! Those are a meal pretty much. :rotfl:

Hmmm, that is a tough one. I like 5 nights better than 4 obviously but the Beach Club would be pretty awesome for Stormalong Bay but with going to parks would you have enough time to enjoy it in 4 nights? But CBR is very beachy as well. Doesn't Chelsea want to stay there? You had a 40% off code, right?

40% for deluxes, 30% for moderates.

I like the longer stay as well, and CBR is pretty tropical...

Longer stay is better. You can enjoy the resort more that way and Chelsea can get her Beach fix in.

You are really getting my hopes up that you are going to go to Disney, Jackie! :rolleyes1

I am getting giddy at the thought of a CP Disney vacation. :rolleyes1 But I am also a beach lover so no matter what it will be great. But not the mall...:sad2:

Hey Gnomies! Just wanted to share with you that I have a phone interview next Tuesday morning for an Instructional Coach position in Texas!! If you pray, say a prayer for me, if not wish me luck!!!!! I'm just excited to have this opportunity!!! :cool1:

Go Jen :cheer2: You can do it girl :yay: Knock their socks off!!!!!!! :woohoo:
What are the job duties exactly? Is it specifically for science?

OK CP, you big tease...which phone call! :confused3

Well I'm feeling a bit better now about the house situation. I talked with my real estate agent and she told me that the house we liked did not sell. There had been no showings in a couple months and they got discouraged and pulled it off the market for awhile. It's a divorce situation where the husband had moved out and the ex-wife lived there with the kids. The ex-wife found a new house and moved and the husband and new wife moved in. Obviously new wife doesn't want to live there permanantly so there may still be a possiblity for us.

Also, we looked at other houses currently on the market and found a new listing that is a lot like the first house (4 level split, dead end street, large lot near the edge of town, 4 season porch) so it's nice to know that there are options out there!

Of course all of this is dependent on me getting a job! :rolleyes1 I was told this week that one of the teachers who was on the interview committee for the high school job I didn't get has e-mailed a couple different people to let them know that I need to be seriously considered for one of the support specialist positions (there are 10 of them for gods sake! You would think I have a halfway decent shot!!!)

LL is eating lobster, anyone else with fun weekend plans? We have no plans here but it will be a beautiful weekend so hopefully just enjoying some time outside!

CP-no fair teasing! Let us know what you decide!! Here's to hoping for 5 nights at CBR!
Jen-good luck on that interview!! Definitely be thinking about you!
Katie-Still sending good thoughts your way on the job!

Blake caught blue crabs the past few days and we had a little crab feast date last night just the two of us. We were supposed to have 2 of his college friends from Virginia Tech visit this weekend, but that has turned into most of his family coming too. Not too happy about that, because it was supposed to be a nice visit, not getting bombarded by his family. But they have a local strawberry festival around here/carnival/4H thing, so we're going to try that out today. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thanks for the well wishes guys!!!!!!

Okay as far as the job...

An Instructional Coach is someone who helps teachers within a content area (in this case, Science) to better deliver instruction, model the best teaching methods, conduct professional development on a micro scale, and reforming current teaching methods within an organization. There are actually 3 positions for this (2 are currently filled) to do this within science at the school district level there, and additionally pretty much every HS has one on-site.

Been doing some research so I can adequately answer all their questions!

The urge to "run away from it all" and escape reality is getting stronger and stronger. Are the crowds really that bad in the summer? Maybe I'll just go and spend all my time at Stormalong Bay and Epcot. I really need an escape. Stupid reality. :headache: Stupid work. :headache: Stupid boys. :headache: (well, one boy in particular, to be accurate :rolleyes1)

How are the gnomies? What have you all been up to this holiday weekend?

Besides locking my keys in my car on Saturday morning?? :rotfl2: Not much. Relaxing, doing homework, all that good fun stuff.

I'd say Epcot and Stormalong Bay would be the perfect summer getaway. Go for it!

I'm sorry that happened to you, Leslie. That must have been awful!

I think I may be online later pricing out some alternatives. :rolleyes1 But for now... I have a date with my lounge chair. And a DVC newsletter that talks all about the new Hawaii resort. Talk about some Disney dreaming! :)

--------------

Flights surprisingly reasonable. Now just have to see if there are any passholder discounts. Am I NUTS to think about going during the summer??
