Gnomies Gone Wild

C, can't wait to see the pics of the new car!

LL, glad you are feeling better!

I need to spend some of today getting ready for Chelsea's slumber party this weekend. :scared:

Gnomies - I cannot believe that it is not Friday yet?! HOW can that be? :sad2:

I bought a new car yesterday! :yay: I'll try to post pictures over the weekend. I went the sensible route.

I agree, I have been too spoiled by this part-time working thing for the last year. IF I ever get full-time employment again, it's going to be a big adjustment! I've only been working "full-time" for 3 weeks but am counting the days left (7 in case you were wondering)

:cool1: WOOHOO for a new car! Can't wait to see pics

I'm feeling better today. Bah. Yesterday was one of the worst days EVER for me but I survived.

Glad you are feeling better, what was wrong?

Just four others, but you know how pre-teen girls can be -- it will feel like a hundred, I am sure! :scared:

:scared: Indeed!

I remember tweenage slumber parties!! Good luck to you Mom!

Let me comfort you with this. My mom always said my slumber parties were easier to deal with. She could deal with tee-hees and the giggling. My brothers slumber parties on the other hand....lets just say we were all woken up at 3am after they had dunked some poor kids head in the toilet. Mom never had boys over again.

 Oh, I am so not looking forward to Connor's parties!

I wouldn't suggest slumber parties. That was one night in my life I will never get back. We used to have them at the clubhouse of where we lived...so Mom convinced me to spend the night with her to help watch over the boys. There was shaving cream, water fights, it was miserable. I thought Mom was going to blow a gasket. Of course none of the water guns or shaving cream came out of the bags until we were asleep. Sneaky little devils.

Nope, sadly Connor will never have a slumber party -- of this I am convinced! :sad2:

Oh, I did NOT need to hear this! I was just feeling good about not having girls and never having to deal with their slumber parties...you mean it gets worse :scared1: (although Patrick had a friend come over the other day to play and asked if SHE could spend the night :headache:. Unless it's your girl cousin, NO boy/girl sleepovers!!!)

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: I'm glad to give you these warnings. It was truly awful, I swear my Mom still shudders when it is brought up. She said at least girls are mean to each other quietly. :rotfl:

I agree, no boy/girl sleepovers!

Hey Jen (MM) Happy Anniversary to you and Tom! Best wishes on Megs first day of Kindergarten! I remember lots of tears on that day!!! (Mine, not Patrick's)

Now...Daniel's first day of preschool I fear will be the other way around :scared: We have visited his classroom a couple times and met his teacher and he enjoyed it but patrick and I were with him. He flatly states that he does NOT want to go to school. I thought doing daycamp this summer might help and he was excited about it and loved going at first. Now Greg is struggling to get him to go (Daniel says it's "too loud and echo-y" in the indoor shelther and he is very sensitive to noise). I KNOW he will like school once he adjusts to it but it will be tough the first couple weeks. Patrick and I have been talking about all the fun things Daniel will get to do but it just upsets him to hear us talk about it.

Jen (JJ) on FB, it sounded like you had a tough flight home. Glad you are back now!

Yeah I'm just not a good flyer period...but taking the dramamine really helped...I was more relaxed and slept most of the flight to Houston!!!! However I fly to Kansas by myself next Saturday and well we'll see how that goes LOL!!!

Aww...poor Patrick...I wish you guys a smooth adjustment and that he will learn to love school!!!!

Happy Anniversary Jen (MM)!!!

Jen, I think you should take something that will make you sleepy when you fly to Kansas too. They won't let you stay on the plane if you sleep through the landing!

Hi everybody! I'm lame that I don't have words for every one of you but if I try to keep up like that I'll end up dropping out, like I did in the Chicago thread a year ago!!!

Happy Anniversary to MM though- caught that much anyway!

Househunting is SUCKING! We find something we like, we take a 2nd look- we find things we don't like.... around and around. I feel like I've looked at every available listing in the area. Does anyone know how those "For Sale by Owner" sites work? Can I still use my realtor for that or will I be expected to pay my realtor a commission out of my pocket? I'm very confused about it.

Julez, I THINK that the seller is always responsible for paying the realtors comission. These numbers could be wrong but...comission is something like 7% of the selling price, split equally between the sellers realtor and the buyers realtor. Anyone who decides to "sell by owner" is doing so to save the cost of a selling realtor but still must pony up the 3 1/2% to the buyers realtor. Ask your realtor, they should be able to clarify for you.

So girls, remember that report my supervisor was expecting but didn't tell me about? :sad2: He handed me a copy of the report HE is supposed to fill out as the principal investigator of the grant. One section is supposed to be a narrative of what was accomplished, reflections, etc...to not exceed 8 pages :scared1: He told me to keep my report under 5 pages, YEAH RIGHT!!!! That won't be a problem, I am only at 1 1/2 pages and other than a little reflection, I have NO idea what else to write :headache:

I just keep flipping back to it on my computer hoping for some

hi all!!

I just baked my new shoes:rotfl2:

They are hot when they come out of the oven! I have to go for a little walk now to let them cool!!
