Gnomes Gnomes on the Range!

Hey girlies!!

It feels like I have not been around Disboards forever! I of course realize it's not been more than a couple weeks except for lurking mostly and saying Hi here but I am so far behind on my TR subscriptions that I'm not sure I will ever actually catch up :sad2:

I feel so naughty checking in from school. I never have the time during the day because I am so busy (no planning period) and I refuse to stay in my room at lunch because I am not paid that 1/2 hour and I know I would be tempted to work. BUT it is Friday, I have enough work done for 1 week and wanted to say hi.

Greg is gone tonight for a conference and I'm thinking fast food and a movie with the boys if we can find one we all want to see.

come on...10 more minutes...ready for this day to be over (OK, I actually work until 4 but the kids are done at 3:25 so that's close enough!)

Do any of you listen to the DIS podcast? They asked an interesting question this week: if WDW were closing what would be the 1 attraction and 1 meal you had to have before they closed their doors?

I'm stumped.... and probably giving this way too much thought. :upsidedow

As of now am thinking Soarin and dinner in World Showcase - perhaps Chefs or San Angel not b/c of the quality of the food but b/c the atmosphere seems so perfectly Disney.

What would you do?

That question makes me sad! :sad1:

Brown Derby & Haunted Mansion though.

Soarin' is a very, very close second.

I'm up way too early for a Saturday.

Jackie, I finished Revolution...VERY GOOD. I loved it.

I had a wonderful dream that my mom decided to take me to Disney for a long weekend, think I can talk her into it? :lmao:

I am up way too early this morning, and I have to go to the grocery store. There is no getting away from it this morning because we are out of coffee creamer. :headache:

LL, I am so glad you liked Revolution! I will have to read it at some point -- if one of the two libraries I frequent ever gets it in. :thumbsup2

C, that is a very hard question. I think I would have to ride the Jungle Cruise and eat at the Cantina in Epcot because both of those things are so wrapped up in my memories of childhood trips. :goodvibes

WOW what a tough question, well the ride part is easy I would so be on the Haunted Mansion and they would probably have to pry me out of the doombuggy with crowbar, screaming and crying hysterically...but that's neither here nor there :rotfl2:

LOL Brown Derby does own my heart (uh oh my answers are starting to look a lot like someone else's LOL) I would so have to eat there one more time, but I also love Rose and Crown so it would be a hard choice for me!

Hmm...Interesting question...

I would probably choose Big thunder mountain because it was my first roller coaster ever and makes me think of my Grandpa. But (don't hate me for this) I think IASW is a really close second, not only because I do love it but because of it's history with Walt

dinner might be harder because although I have enjoyed lots of the places I have eaten, there are many more I am still anxious to try. So my pick might sound strange because it's not exactly considered fine dining....I would choose Chef Mickeys or Crystal Palace because if Disney world went away, I would want some final face to face time with the characters I love

Any fun Halloween weekend plans going on? We haven't done our pumpkins yet so that's first up tomorrow. There is a carnival at the Y in the afternoon where there are cute games and kids come in costume. Then of course there is trick or treating in the evening. Busy day!

Hope you are all having fun :goodvibes

I wonder what is going on....all of us teachers must be having the craziest school years!!! Mine has been INSANE.....there are NO words for how busy we have been....but I don't want to talk about it, because it just is not happy or joyous talk! :)

Now, I did just make Miss Megs the CUTEST Daisy Duck costume this year per her request...I will post pictures of her tomorrow after "tricks or treats!" I am so proud of myself---and that is hard for me to admit sometimes, so you should know how just darn cute it is!!!!!!

Here's to hoping that November brings some much needed rest and relaxation for all of us!

Jen, I can't wait to see Megs' Daisy Duck costume! I bet it is precious!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, GNOMIES!

I don't know what's in the air but things are definitely crazy for us teachers LOL!! Oh well I hope by 2nd semester I'll have it down like a pro LOL!!!!

OOOH Meg's as Daisy I can't wait to see!!!! She is going to be so adorable!!!!

Oh my my my....Definately Haunted Mansion and.....hmm....Probably Crystal Palace buffet breakfast. Let's just hope this is never a dilema we face!

Jen I CANNOT WAIT to see that costume!! Daisy's my fave!!! :)

Hey Stace! It was...ok? It's been so long since I interviewed for a job, I wasn't ready for all those rediculous questions they ask! I don't know really, I didn't get a feel either way- she said it takes 2 weeks for HR to go through all the apps nd get back to applicants. :confused3

I don't think they liked my availability though. In a world where so MANY people are out of work, they prolly would like someone who is available any time but Im only avail. on Tues/Thurs evenings and every other weekend. So...I dunnow.

Anyone have fun plans tonight? I'm just hangin' with Crazy Jim and the kids and taking them to Rachael's Halloween fun fair. Might go see Paranormal Activity with some friends. Heard it was super stupid though....

I'm reading "How to Be Single"...it's pretty funny.

Ok, just got a great workout in... on to laundry, shower, and dishes!:laundy: :woohoo:

Julez - is that your version of GTL? :rotfl:

Paranormal Activity 2 was definately not as good as the first for several reasons, but still not the worst movie ever! Have fun if you go! And good luck with the job, keep us updated!!

Well girls, I'm off to work as Stacy the scary, jewellery selling witch!

:sad2: I just had to come over here and post this...the poeple of Iowa are stupid!! I wanted to put something on FB but I get sick of the not-so-friendly political banter I see on other people's posts but I needed to put it in writing!

A former governor from the 80's is back in. He ran on a campaign of how great things were during his time as governor compared to today. DUH!! The entire country was in a different condition

the one that really upsets me (the governor one I knew was coming) is that a jacka$$ politician started up a big stir to vote out 3 of Iowa's supreme court justices and it actually happened. this came out of a decision last year to legalize gay marriage in Iowa. I have read the court ruling and it clearly shows how the writing of our constitution supports this decision. The judges job is to interpret the laws and in this case, they did so correctly.

At least a couple of the more local races turned out OK

Jackie, I have a book for you!

Juliet by Anne Fortier

I just finished it last night and I couldn't put it down, I think you would love it. :goodvibes

That is too funny, LL! I just asked for it to be put on hold for me the last time I was at the library! Great minds think alike! I am so glad to hear it was good! :thumbsup2

Katie, sorry to hear about the situation in Iowa. :( I wasn't pleased with the outcome of our governor's race, either. Good news for us, though -- the new state superintendent of schools is our secondary curriculum director! :goodvibes

I hear your political pain Katie...we just did elections here for all the city councellor positions and I had the hardest time voting because I didn't like ANY of the campaigns! Voting for our mayor was the worst....and the candidate I didn't want got in....I just can't wait to vote for provincial mp! ;)

But I am very excited to get out of my country and into yours this weekend! Hello Disney store and Olive Garden!!! Woot Woot!

I'm glad to hear that LL!! I thought it looked fantastic and DL it to my nook a week or 2 ago..... but I'm still forcing my way through A Reliable Wife... so I can't start it yet.

A Reliable Wife...I like the storyline...and I WANT to know whats going to happen...but the writing style is  awful (IMHO) ... it makes me crazy!!!

I keep looking at The Reliable Wife but something puts me off of it, I think I'll be skipping that one for the time being. :lmao:

Juliet was seriously good. I loved it. I really want to go to Italy now. :lmao:

I'm in the middle of Realityland and I'm really enjoying it. I keep adding all your suggestions to my book list so I can read them someday!!! Hopefully this summer!

I have also started crocheting...I hope to make a baby blanket for my cousin before the baby arrives in December!

I would.

Yeay! I can't wait to read it -- hopefully it won't take forever to get into the library! I started City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. It is the first in a three-book series, and all three books are already published which means I won't have to wait forever to read all of them -- so far it is pretty good.

Realityland has been on my list for a long time.

Neat!!! I need to get back into doing craft projects!
