Gmax 1st Trip Report W/PICS and Pre-Trip Report for '06

If you can get Sneezie on, I might brave it. But we have one called the Cliff Hanger at Six Flags and it makes things in my body shift to places they shouldn't be. Oooh just thinking about it hurts my tummy. No eating before this or embaressment. I had planned on trying the Rockin Rollercoaster-for some weird reason, if the rollercoaster is in the dark I can ride it with no problem. I guess it's because i don't anticipate what's coming. I just hate that chink, chink, chink, chink as your climbing to the top. :sad2:

I'm such a wimp now. I used to be the first one on in the front seat, ready to go. Now, post babies, I don't think everything is tied down inside anymore. :teeth:

So sorry that I don't have a scanner so you all can see my ride photos. That will definetly be a post-Disney purchase!

Last year, I considered getting on Rockin Rollar Caoster. I even got in line. When I got to the part where I could see the car taking off, I nearly LOST it! But then I even waited to see another one take off thinking that maybe I was just shocked. NO! There was no way I was going to do it! I really think that I would enjoy it since there are no steep drops. But that sudden take off would be the death of me . . . :faint:

Also, I have to tell you Ladies that as excited as I will be to finally see you in person, I WILL NOT EVER RIDE TOWER OF TERROR AGAIN!!! The very memory of that ride is scary!

Thanks to everyone who has read my report  . I promise to add more as the days get closer!

glendamax! So cool to see you added pics to your TR from last Sept. When I was still a shy new disser, I searched "September" and your TR was the first one I read closely followed by the epic Zzub report. I enjoyed it immensely and have reread parts of it during my planning. I enjoyed your new pretrip and I'm glad your going back ahead of me this September so I can read another great glendamax report before we head out Sept. 22. And if ya see your friend Utahmamma....tell her how much I enjoyed her pretrip also (as she has requested no posts on her TR thread ;) ) Have a FABULOUS time on your vacation!

Thank you for the trip it was fun! I am sorry I don't do Mission Space I felt dared by my son and sadly I wanted to show him Mama can do it!!! What a lark! I had to go driectly back to the resort and put the waste pail on the side of the bed!!! GEESSHHH!! I haven't felt like then since the 80's!!!So glad they are over I could never survive them!!!

Now I do have a question, about the rope cermony what is that it looks like so much fun??

Now have to go and boop over to Utah, its a long walk to see what her links got going and off the The Tiaira world link!!

I can't wait to see and hear all of your trip! Thank you!

Now I'm nervous to ride Mission Space! I totally regret chickening out last year! I think I'll take a Dramamine before and one in the AM. I have to take the chance! I dont know if we'll be able to go next year.

Glenda! Thank you for keeping me occupied while we WAIT every so patiently for Sorul82? to do her TR. She keeps posting "teasers" just to make me crazy! (I know it isnt all about me and she really has a life and she's been traumatized but I want to know what happened!)

First let me start of by saying that I still can't figure out how to post mutiple posts from different people in my responses. So if someone knows, please PM me so I don't have to do separate posts for each response. Thanx!

Lex, thanks for reading my report! I'm glad it was some help to you. This year I want to do another one, but I think it will be mostly pictures because that little report I wrote was alot of work. I REALLY felt like I was doing a paper for school! Maybe next time I'll just give a breif summary of each day, and give tips. We'll see . . .

Mission Space: I am so glad they have a tame version of this now. That will be what I ride from now on. I think 'Mama is courageous for taking Dramamine and getting on, becuz I'll NEVER do it again. I was fine during the ride, but as I was walking down the hallway to the exit, I started to feel funny. I was sick for the next 2 hours :sad2:

The Rope Ceremonies are different at each park. I only got to see all of EPCOT's and Animal Kingdom's. The main characters come out, talk to the crowd, there's music, and then the CM's walk you in. I caught the tail end of the one at Magic Kingdom, and did not get to MGM early enough to see it. I liked the one at Animal Kingdom the best. Hopefully you'll get to see that one. It was really cute and had a little surprise.

Okay Gmax this is a test to see if I can post 2 quotes.

Absoluetely LOVED your report - can't believe I missed your post and didn't read it sooner! You sound like so much fun to be with on a trip - you're invited to come along with us (we're finally going October 27th and can't wait!)

We had originally planned on going Sept 17th 5 nites at BWV with a Boardwalk view (was SO looking forward to sitting on the balcony watching Epcot fireworks) but couldn't get the money together :sad1:

But we finally are getting it all worked out with a DVC owner with standard view at BWV and am so excited.

You gave me some awesome tips (riding Big Thunder at night, stand in front of Splash, and sitting on the left side facing the Castle) - thank you!!

P.S. I live down here in Fredericksburg and was planning on taking a flight out of Regan National but find the flights from Baltimore even cheaper - you're from that area - is it worth the drive do you think?

Glad I seemed fun to you! I wish I could go back with you in October!

Now that gas is higher, you have to weigh if you would spend the difference in gas driving to BWI. That's what I would do.

Also, I'm glad you liked my report. Some suggested that next time I make it more of a story, insted of a list of things I did. I'm REALLY going to try to that next time. But I don't know what you guys would want to hear. Sometimes I feel like I'm writing in a journal to myself. So we'll see. Like I said before I MAY just do a bunch of pics with some tips.

Ok! I gotta sign off and do some work! See ya! :wave2:

nice report, but I'd just like to make 1 suggestion to you incase you make future ones. Try to make your report less of a list and more of a story, it felt like it was in bullet form (ie like a power point presentation) sometimes. It was still enjoyable to read though, and a good first report :thumbsup2

HEY!!!! I hope you're still around! Thanks for this suggestion!

Thanks for the tips on your trip. We are planning our extra park hours at now before we go. Also think you were smart in taking the mid day rest. We plan on doing the same thing.

Jim

Thanks for your tr, Glenda. I happen to like the brief report rather than story form, especially since I'm looking for helpful tips such as you have given. I especially like that you put TIP: because if I need to scan it quickly, I can do that.

Thanks for the heads up on sick stomach. We're going in Nov, and there's always a chance that someone will need your advice.

I was impressed by the lack of crowds when you went. I've been a little concerned about the timing of our trip, which is during Jersey Week (Nov 8-12). I didn't know about Jersey Week when I committed. When we went in Dec 2004, it was not crowded, but it was very cold, if you can believe that. Our pirate: cruise for our DGS, then 7, was altered due to the cold. It was colder in Olando than WA state!!

I want to take advantage of EMH, but folks seem to warn against it. Good to hear your experience was a good one.

Are you going with the same friend this year?

Grmammy

I enjoyed your trip report and can't wait to hear about your adventure when you get back. I do understand about not being hard to miss. I am a 34 year old African American but not as tall as you. I guess you could spot me because I would be the woman on Mickey's arm after pushing Minnie away :rotfl:

I have never meet UtahMama, but by reading her trip reports you may have to keep her out of trouble. Just kidding UtahMama

Not to leave Snezzie out--Hi

All of you have a safe and magical trip :smickey:

No, This year, I'm going with my Mother. She just goes with me cause she knows how happy it makes me. But hopefully the next time I'll go with someone as excited as I am.

In the next trip report, I will make sure to include "TIP" in it. I'm glad you found it helpful, and not too boring. Also, I am going to try to catch an evening EMH at MK if we arent too tired. The park is BEAUTIFUL at night, and riding Thunder Mountain in the dark is the best!

Hey Lan! Thanks for reading my report! Another "Sista" on the boards! See, I knew I wasn't the only one! :wave2:

If I went by my real name on these boards, you would of known I was a "sista" without me saying a work to you.

By the way, my real name is Elantrice. :Pinkbounc

Ride Tower of Terror for me :rotfl:

Lan- I dont think GlendaMax is gonna ride Tower of Terror. It terrifies her. She turns into a combination Reach-flip-top-head and PEZ dispensor. I'm gonna ply her with liquor and tell her Seal's on that pretty elevator! I'm going to put up the picture for auction on e-bay.

UtahMama, what method of payment would u like in order me me to contribute to the liquor buying to get GlendaMax on that ride?

:rotfl2:
